It was cadmium, and no. It's based on if you take more than 3 servings daily of the stuff, which would be your own fault.

The ON was only in one flavor was it not? The Extremely milk chocolate or something?
If not, I got 2.5 lbs of Rich Chocolate sitting upstairs that i'm gonna die on. I take 2 - 3 shakes a day. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF LEAD

Honestly I think everyone is blowing this way out of proportion. There should be much more concern over the mercury in tuna than this stuff.

Nobody knows the safe levels. Muscle Milk and Myoplex and Optimum Nutrition should have told us about this before Consumer Reports. I'm going to cut my use of protein powders drastically. I'll just use Solgar's Whey to Go since it seemed the least contaminated.
is it all ON products or just the extremely chocolate? i thought i heard that on 100% was fda approved? is that true

This could just be hyped up ploy to get people to keep using ON, but i'll keep drinking 2 - 3 shakes a day and see if I die early or not from lollead.

WTF should ON have told us about? Their product tested well below the "limit" that was imposed.
The fact that a protein product was tested and results given means nothing! Please, everybody, stop listing everything that was tested and implying there was a problem when most of them...such as ON...tested favorably!

Well yeah ON's levels were better than others, but I like the brands that have zero next to the level, which some of them do.

Dude....
Optimum tested at 1.5 micro-grams of arsenic for every 90 grams of protein consumed.
Solgar's Whey tested at 1.2 micro-grams of arsenic for every 96 grams of protein consumed.
Are you seriously worried about there being 0.0000003 grams more aresenic from ON for every 90+ grams of protein consumed ??
If you look at the other ON protein it has 2.5 micrograms for 96.....that makes a difference of 0.000001 grams arsenic. For cadmium the ON shows 0.0000017 grams in three scoops.
Realize how small this amount is.
Anyone know about truesupplement's whey?
Why do so many people recommend ON whey?
Isn't the flavoring like sub-par? and they use ion-exchange filtering? And there is CHEAPER quality protein supps out there?
I see people mentioning ON and it's like ... why..
I can understand longevity of it being around, and advertising; however if you're on these forums and read about other multiple types of protein supps, I'm not sure why people would have it as a primary source of a protein supp...

Longevity and advertising. It has been around a long time, anybody with any experience in this is familiar with it, it is readily available, the product is as advertised, the flavor and mixability...while not as good as some of the best out there (such as XF)....is still pretty good and, years ago, compared more favorably.
It also used to be less expensive and people got 'stuck' on it. After reading this forum in late 2007 what did I buy when I went out and got protein powder supps? ON. The message you get reading these forums, and others like it, is a bit different today. I took a bunch of time off, came back...and now everybody raves about XF and Myofusion.

Anyone know where these companies get their raws from? One of the problems with dealing with such a large company that deals in such small profit margins is that they move massive amounts of product. It is easy to have quality control start to slip.
Personally, I've always used MRM natural whey. I guy I know in the industry says they use some of the highest quality suppliers out there. Apparently their whey comes from grass-fed cows in New Zealand.
doesn't anyone here realize that every protein powder has at least some amount of heavy metal's.they just didn't test them all your consuming more arsenic from chicken breast then you probably ever would through protein drinks.

Is that right? Where do you get this info from?
