apple or banana will do.
Can't go wrong with any really...
bananas
Natural Energy Boosters:
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.! But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or preventa! substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to our daily diet.
Why not go for a protein and fruit smoothie- banana/ apple/ berries etc. mixed with some fast acting protein (whey) and simple carbs (honey)? Toss it in a blender with some water and ice, down it, and you're good to go!
Great thanks guys! This might come off stupid but would apple juice be ok? I really dont care for apples to much but I can down the juice with no problem.

Im not doubting you, but if you know of the study could you provide the link please. I'd love to read something like that.
OP I think a pineapple before working out would be a good idea.
ANY fruit is a good pre-workout meal BUT you should also be consuming some kind of protein before you get out the door for the workout IMO. Someone above said to mix your fruit into a protein smoothie. That was quality advice.

It's vitamin C. It enhances NOS activity via tetrahydrobiopterin availability, and it enhances NO availability by protecting it from degradation. Of course an orange isn't going to be that potent in effects.

Yes! The mother of all fruits!
Thanks guys for all the great info in here! Yeah getting going at 4am is tough. I should have added that I do take in some sort of prework out drink like jack3d to help and then 1 scoop of whey about 20 mins before. But my big problem is Im not seeing the results I would like and someone had told me to add in a good carb before hand. So I wasn't sure what to add.
