The title says it all. I've heard its hard on the heart, could cause pulled muscles or even heart attacks. If you have a source of information, that would also help. thanks

The questions ppl ask on these forums.
If you are that concerned don't run.
Think about the laws of physics. Yes, it will put a physical strain on ****. Is this enough to cause health problems? Eh, have you ever watched professional basketball they have excellent point control and stop on a dime. They still play quite often.
Source of information: Not being retarded
Your question is pretty asinine because living in and of itself is harmful.
EXAMPLE: Every day you in take radicals or molecules or atoms that have extra electrons and this propagates down a chain of reoccurring reactions and can cause cancer or destruction of dna through intercalation of the double helix conformation.

It's a pretty legitimate question. I'm a runner and have been for a while. I know a little about running, but I never claim to know everything. I have heard of people dying after marathons and I have heard hear say that it is bad on your heart, joints, whatever... My concern is for occasional runners, not pro or amateur athletes who condition 5 days a week.
Now, the only thing I got out of what you said was "Yes, it will put a physical strain on ****." Thank you Zen Master, but can you elaborate
Do you really think they died from the physical forces of accelerating in the opposite direction of their forward momentum? Or perhaps they died from dehydration or numerous other factors like a congenital defect.
I take your zen master sarcasm as a compliment.
I heard that if you suddenly stop running its hard on the heart, could cause pulled muscles or even heart attacks.

it means you've realized that running isn't any fun and you've decided to do something else.
on the cereal - barring any heart problems (not caused by the exercise itself) 99.9% of people should be fine.
