Just did my first show at Elite Muscle Classic in NC- Bikini Class A 7th out of 22 in my class! Building season now for North Carolina State Championships next April!
Alrighty everyone...2012 is coming to a close so that means 2013 and the next competition season is right around the corner.
My first competition for 2013 is the Phil Heath Classic on March 16th, then USAs in July...Vegas, baby!! I'll likely have a few more regional ones thrown in the mix, but those two are locked down.
I just started competing last year and placed 2nd in my first comp, the Adela Garcia Classic. My stats were...
5'6"
130#
6.5% BF
Immediately after the Adela in June I started a beastly offseason. This year I'm looking to roll in at 135# and not quite as lean as last time. Prep for the Phil Heath starts (for me) January 1 [coach says 8 weeks out which is mid-January but that's cutting it too close for me].
July 2013 The Missouri State
Ill be there in tip top shape.
new guys here as in for NPC... First show in April... Looking to make big waves the next couples years finally taking it serious, going for middle weight.

Have fun and soak in all you can, I will never forget my first show, that's for sure.
Hello everyone!
I will be doing my first NPC show in Buffalo, NY at the Mr/Ms Buffalo Championships. Is anyone else going to be there or have you competed at that show before? I haven't heard much about that show, more only about the ones in my area/New England (I live in CT). I am going to Buffalo for this show because its where I grew up and most of my family lives there. It will be nice to do a show off on my own turf :)
Right now my stats are:
5'9"
128 lbs
~10%
My first show is in 9 days, but my first NPC show will be April 13th in Buffalo. After that I am planning on competing at the NPC VT April 27th and Jay Cutler Classic May 5th.
Good luck to everyone else competing this spring!
Well hello everyone,
Great tread. I am currently training for the Adela Garcia in june. I did my first show in November last year (Lackland Classic). Didnt do too bad took 5th in open figure and 2nd in military. Made great gains since then and was accepted to Team Bombshell!! woot woot. So many great things happening. Hope to do a few more shows this year if the Military doesnt decide to move me first. we shall see. Congrats to all in your journeys so far and the best of luck!

If those stats are real, and not calling you a liar.. you should be near the national level. That is some pretty serious size with low bodyfat IMO.
Mike
Doing pittsburgh Championships may 4th.
5`1 yea short haha, welterweight.

I guess I could update...
Took first in my height class at the Phil Heath Classic. Came in at 135# and 9.2%.
Next show is Jr Nationals June 14th...told my coach I want to come in a little bit leaner this time. Then it's Nationals (depending on how Chicago goes) in November.

Best of luck! Do you feel those bodyfat measures were accurate?
What is the typical bodyfat for figure, I'm actually curious. I know it is higher than mens bodybuilding which is under 5%.

I did a DEXA scan at 8 weeks out and the day before (before carb loading) so as accurate as I could get. And based on visuals and data from my last cut, it lined up with my 8 week out assumptions I had prior to getting that scan.
Typical..,.
Pros: 7 to 11%
Amateur: a crapshoot...I've seen girls in mid to high 20s...just because they wanted to compete. But on average...I'd say 9 to 14%
I've been thinking about competing for a while now. I am trying to decide between competing in a bodybuilding class or a physique class for a first timer. Any recommendations?

To be honest, I personally prefer BB because of the posing. And the routines are always fun because you can really show your personality (and hard work)....more stage time than physique also. If you prefer to be more of a "Calvin Klein Model" then go physique. Judging by your avi you'd be suited for either.
