What's an avg, small, and large chest size for 6'2"
I'm not talking about by BBing standards.
I'm thinking:
Small: 36
Average: 38
Large: anything greater than 40...
anyone agree?

Depends how long your clavicle is.
Depends on if your talking about the typical "athletic" build, or if your just taking the "average" of the male population in general. Easiest way to big arms, legs, and chest is a steady diet of McDonalds and Ice Cream, and I've seen some huge "fat-ceps" in my life.

well - i go by how I look.
I had a 46 inch chest at one point and had major man boobs (I'm talking about being lean at this state too with no gyno)
44 inch chest - still man boobs
42 inch chest - ehhhh...just a trace of it
40 inch chest - biggest I can have without them jutting out
38 i think is average
36 would be small...
I agree - depends on how much your frame can support. I'm an ecto - so my chest juts out when I build it up
I'm only 5'11 ~165 and I wear a 41" suit and I look skinny as hell.

you might just have poor symmetry.
if your legs are not in porportion to your chest (if the barrel width of your chest is less than that of your legs) - it can give you the illusion of being scrawny.....
what?? a 40 inch chest is NOT "average"....a 40 inch chest is absolutely tiny. Mine is like 45 and change and it looks small actually compared to my back.
depends on your body type, too.
i have a 45" chest.. could go down to as low as 43" with fatloss.. but with more training, it'll end up at 46" or so.

you're crazy.
you're a monster dude.

and chest size takes into account your back - don't be stupid.

Lol tell me about it, im an ecto as well and i get man boobs from building up my chest.
I think you could get your chest bigger and look decent as long as you focus on your back and shoulders just as much so everything builds up together instead of your chest exploding and you end up looking like a lightbulb.
I went wrong by not putting enough effort into growing width and not hitting back n shoulders harder.
Just a case of keeping everything propertional.

symmetry is key, absolutely - and those standards are symmetrical and lean standards of judging myself.
the highest chest I can have without having them jutout in a muscle shirt is a 42...
I think a 40-42 is as filled out as I can go without looking strange...
Small: 2"
Medium: 46"
Large: 100"
I'd say 40 inch chest for that height, Any smaller than 40 inches means you are puny.
I'm 6'3 and my chest is 45 inches, I would like a bigger chest but 45 is decent.
At my biggest I got 42-43 inches at 5'9"
I'm 6'2",240lbs and wear a 48 long. People say I've got a big chest but when you're trying to catch Ronnie you just don't believe it.
I'm also 6'3" and a bit over 45, I do have a large bone structure frame though so that plays a role too. Everything on my body is pretty big except my waist and wrists. Chest is hardest for me to put muscle on too.
6'1, 47'' chest, yes i am sub 14% bodyfat. I have some big ribs though, thank goodness for genetics, giving me an edge in the chest size department!
42inch chest here, i need to gain some (5'7)

yeah, i agree.
less than 40 is puny...
40-42 is my range as an ecto. I just have tits if I build it up anymore...
I'm 6'2" with a 46" chest and i was an ecto but i still think i can get bigger.

I think my chest started at near 45 before I started lifting.
at 6'2", 40 inches is definitly not large. i'd say 44" would be average and 48"+ would be large. at 6'2" you wont be concidered large if your only 180lbs. to be large at that height you gotta get up to 250lbs. i'm 6' 200lbs with a 44" chest and i'm not where near a large person.

bwahahahaha
right. people are walking around with 44" chests as average.
you're crazy.

yeah, I can believe it.
my friend is a natural meso - he's just got a naturall large chest and frame - and he even has abs.
he's got a 46" chest, and only casually works out.
by casually - I mean just does like bodyweight exercises - pushups in the morning, for instance - and just plays sports.
so yeah....it depends on your frame.
I have a small frame....so if I build a lot of muscle on it - it looks very unnatural and strange.
theres alot of things you gotta take into consideration though
bone structure, genetics, cellulite
i have some what of a thick bone structure. i get it from my dad
I'm 5'11, havent been training all year, just been drinking beer several times a week. My chest is nonexistant aside from some fat (I have boobies now) - I measured 43", so to me, that isnt very big.
I still have considerable back mass from when I was training tho. :)

44" isnt very big. especially for someone 6'2"
My chest is around 44" and I just wore a 48 jacket for my friends wedding. I do not have any fat on my chest and it is not particularly muscular either. Around exactly 6'.

I am about the same size. For non-bodybuilders we are fairly large. There are plenty of 6' 160lb guys walking around. A lot of 200lbers are fatties. 200lb and average BF or fairly lean is pretty big.
I dunno what average would be.
My family are all pretty big in the torso department.
I am about 41" relaxed, my dad is 49" relaxed(maybe 2 inches of fat) never touched a weight in his life.
My uncle who was 6'2" had a 52" chest and never touched a weight (This is at 8% bf - 220lbs)
Another uncle had a 46" at 5'8" at 160lbs - no weights also
(Chest measurements are all relaxed, not expanded whatsoever)
I by all means don't have a big chest in my opinion, i look about 5 inches thick, pretty wide though.
I would think average for 6'2" would be 42-44in - Thats about a XL-2XL in regular clothing which 6'2" would usually wear.
