Leg pain after squatting
Cut my workout short tonight. I've been having pain in my left leg. It's hard to explain... It doesn't hurt during my squatting but after racking the weight, walking around, and for a few hours after a session it hurts. It's wierd because I can feel the pain when I do bodyweight squats but not with weight on my back. It's a dull pain that goes from under my knee down to my ankle on my left shin area:

Extensor Digitorum Longus appears to be the portion of the leg I'm having trouble with.
Squat stance:
I am a narrow squatter, and I lift in VS Athletics.
more recent squat vid for form reference (although these are pr attempts and in wraps)

Possible cause:
I have always for some reason squatted with my right foot further ahead of me than my left foot. If you pause that video at :21 you can see what I'm refering to. Could this inbalance possibly be what's causing the pain?
If anybody has any insight or help for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

The imbalance might be the cause...but it could be 15 things.
Doing recuperative work would probably help.
Compressing the attachment points of the muscle would also help...gets some ace bandage and tie around the ankle and under the knee cap.
If you can get someone to massage, that would help.
Contrast showers, ibuprofen, and ice would help. It'll heal.

I am experiencing a very similar pain when I squat, it's kinda on the outside of my lower legs (for me its both left and right leg)
hard to explain
dunno what it is tho

thanks man, I'll try that stuff. The last thing I want to do is take time off and face a setback unless I really need to.

Is it when you squat or when you're not squatting?

I'm fine on warmup sets, it begins to set in during my work sets (I feel it), and I have pain/dull feeling in my lower legs thru out the rest of the day

Sounds similar to me. If you find anything out let me know man.
fwiw: this is what i've found so far for the EDL pain.

Stretching the edl
Kneel with your shins flat on the ground
Sit back on your heels, slowly increasing the pressure
Hold for between 10 and 30 seconds
Strengthening the edl
Sit on a chair with the knees bent and feet on the floor
Lift the toes and forefoot of either one or both feet off the ground, keeping the heel in contact
Lift as high as you can and really squeeze at the top and point the toes to the ceiling
Return to the starting position

I do the same thing when I squat. I try to give a quick peek down to make sure my feet are even now. I hope I don't run into your problem. Also, congrats on the PR, that's a big raw squat. You had that first DL attempt, you just needed to drive your hips through.
-
If you're squatting ~550 and something hurts a little, I wouldn't be too surprised haha.

Thanks broski, it's not RAWWWWZ though because I had some knee wraps on.
Yeah, I know I had that pull finished. I'm pretty frustrated about that. I'm running a little couple week peaking thing Germanic wrote me so I can successfully pull it in a week or so :). Expect a successful attempt soon!

lol! yeah, I'm not one to complain about minor aches and pains or anything. This has been coming on for a month though and worse every leg day.

Ya, I get the same thing. Warmups are fine, working sets are a pain. And my heaviest sets I don't really even feel it because I concentrating too much on the lift itself. That and EVERYTHING usually hurts on my last set of the day.

This is one of my pain points while squatting as well. Outside of right calf, left intercostals, and both vastus medialises right near the knee. It never lasts much beyond my last set, though. If I'm expecting pain, I usually take 800mg of ibuprofen before the workout.
