Can you "cut" for too long?

I have been on a cutting diet and untill now have been very happy with the results. About into my 11 week on my cutting diet, I all of a sudden felt weaker and maybe overtrained. I had lost 20 pounds during my cutting cycle and had kept all my strength but still have like 15 pounds to go. Do the same rules apply cutting as in bulking as far as taking a few days off to recover every 10 to 12 weeks? My routine is like this:

Day 1 --- weights 30-40 min, cardio 30 min
day 2 --- weights 30-40 min, cardio 30 min
day 3 ---- Cardio 30 min.
day 4 ---- Weights 30-40 min, cardio 30 min
day 5 ---- Weights 30 min, cardio 30 min
day 6 ---- Rest

Of course i do different muscle groups everyday.

after reading up on here for quite a while, i think 12 weeks should be the end of your cut. then take a week or 2 off and start bulking. that is what i plan to do. i figure it this way, by the time my 12th week comes, it will be september (should have started cutting much earlier) then i bulk for a while, then cut back up. i'll just time it so i am cut for next summer. it probably didnt take you 12 weeks to gain the weight, and you wont lose it in that time either.

take a week off... try and eat at maintanance.. then get back into it.

A good way tot ell you've been cutting too long, is when your body starts using up your brain for energy (due to reduced intelligence you won't be able to figure that out anymore though) :)

Seriously, taking a few days off is after been on a routine for that long imo is a good idea. Rest is so important to the body, I was forced to take rest through injury and re-strated training and results where way better. And just check your carb intake and don't let your calorie deficit drop too low. I don't think you have to bulk, just let your body recover a little, hy resting and not adapting your calories to the decrease in burned calories (you need them to recover), then continue on.

Yeah, great post. A break also restores sugar levels so your cravings will be much easier to resist.

Try reducing your cardio to maybe 3 days a week, and go for 45mins each time. Give yourself more days off from cardio.
