drinking water/glucose mix during workout
i'm not sure if i'm a victim of my own eagerness. you know... you start out at the gym all eager and keen, listening and learning. then you unlock the door to the multitude of information on nutrition and supplements. you talk to people, hear things, and digest as much as possible.
a while ago i was told it was a good idea to add some glucose to my water to drink during my workout - 0.4g per bodyweight. and i have been doing it for some time. recently i realised i could barely remember the theory behind why this was supposedly a good idea. something to do with encouraging an insulin spike...
now of course i'm wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this theory. hence this post. is there credibility in this theory, or am i just increasing my blood sugar levels for no reason?
