Americans and your guns. I honestly just don't get it. I get the arguments for and against, but in most places in the world, people agree that gun control or outright ban is the way to go.

Owning a firearm is so commonplace that it's become the norm. Nowadays, I automatically assume everyone has one, and treat them accordingly. I'm actually surprised when someone confesses that they don't! Still, in light of all the tragedies, I wish they were harder to acquire.

Yeah that is pretty unusual it seems, is there any particular reason or do you just not feel you need one?

Trust me, here in the US too.
Weapons owners are definitely a minority, probably 95% of the last 3 generations agree guns should be banned. The thing is though, just like health insurance companies, weapons producers have been selling their product for over 60 years, creating 2 of the most profitable lobbies/corporations in the country; think about this, arms producers and h.i. companies account together for the 8.1% of the whole US gross domestic product.... 8.1%, you understand what I'm saying?
That means that even if Obama, backed up by every single citizen, decided to shut down this 2 ''issues'', he just couldn't! cause honestly, how do you as a nation, give up all of a sudden almost 10% of you GDP???
Unfortunately it's been way too long, and now what I call issues RUN the country.
Which makes me sad, other than hopeless.

Well, both my parents are from Sierra Leone, and they never wanted any in the household. Since they weren't part of my childhood, I never really learned to appreciate them. I have friends who are gun enthusiasts, but we don't talk about it.

This is the problem with politicians who are bought and paid for by the corporations, even before they get into office. Once they are there, they are powerless to act against the in justices they SHOULD be addressing.
I don't own any weapons, but I'd like to as I want to get into hunting (branch style).
I shot some guns in Prague.
Shotguns, Sniper etc.
Was the best feeling ever.
Only thing that'll top that now is banging a hot chick whilst holding a Magnum in two hands pointing it at the sky and emptying both chambers.
I'd love to have a gun, but you can't even hit criminals/burglars here never mind shoot them.
Same deal here. If someone breaks into your house and you beat them up, you get charged with assault.
Same deal here. If someone breaks into your house and you beat them up, you get charged with assault.
I think it depends on if you're in a position where your life is threatened or not.
I honestly see no reason to kill or savagely beat the intruder if your life is not in danger, but then again, you can't tell if he has a few tricks up his sleeves.

F*cking pathetic, if someone breaks into your house their life is forfeit imo

If someone has broken into your house your life is in danger. It's one of those times were you 100% shoot first and ask questions later.

If he broke into your house to steal, I see no reason to injure him on a destructive degree.
He's after material, inanimate objects, I don't see why you should take a human's life for something you can get back and fix.
You never know, he might be under the effect of something, he might be having a bad day, but he's still a human that has an entourage and relatives.
You might be taking the life of a man who had family and kids that were dear to him, I'd personally let justice deal with that but by killing him, you're taking away his chance to redeem himself.
But then again, it depends on the degree of the situation, if there's threatening behaviour towards you or family members, (if we're speaking about gun use)I'd probably blow off his limbs but not aim to kill him.
Roro what's your address?
Sammy what'd you do if someone broke into your house?
Get out from the back scared to death, run away, jump fence, then call the police or go to a neighbors hours
If I'm stuck in my room then try to hide and plead for my life. I feel if I act violent I will be the one that gets killed or nearly killed

STRONG gun collection to response ratio

ok cool but this is what you actually do...
1) knock said intruder unconscious with already prepared house weapon
2) put body in dumpster, dead or not
3) whoever comes back you say "Ive never seen this individual before and he looks like he sleeps in a dumpster"

what if it's personal? Pigeons on my balcony have been waking me up every morning this past 2 months. This afternoon I found a secret nest, hell I just finished throwing their baby birds in the garbage shoot an hour ago... feels good.
