Dropped Barbell on Chest
I was benching at a meet on Sunday and on my second attempt i was going for 137.5Kg (303 lbs) and as i was getting ready to go down the bar slipped and crashed on my chest. It still hurts today a little bit, should i take any time off, i really dont wanna go to the doc. Should i just play it by ear. ? Anyone have any similar experiences?

Common sense man, see a physician.
You may have fractured a bone which is causing the pain. In any case, chest related injuries should not be taken lightly as your lungs and heart are right behind those muscles and your ribcage.

Suicide grip?
Yes see a doc. 2 people I know did the same thing one with 225 and the other with 365. Both had cracked their sternum. Nothing you can do about that but still good to have it checked.

Where the heck were the spotters? That should never happen!

Sometimes it's too quick even for spotters.

Not properly trained ones. From the second that bar is lifted off they should be prepared for the worst.

I'm surprised, I've competed in NASA and I was almost sure they didn't allow thumbless grips.

That must have hurt. You should go see a doctor just to make sure you didnt seriously hurt something.
