peaking biceps
how can i make my bicep tall and not just round? and the muscles like, on the outer region of my bicep...what the heck should i do to make those bigger?
i have a flat side of my arm (other than my delt and forarm) and my bicep is only as tall as my delt...i have some fairly big arms too...14.75...so, what should i do to peak them UP and not OUT...i really would like something that would show me results in about a month or a month and a half or something because i am about to get REALLY busy after that time...thanks

Concentration Curls and Incline Curls.
-
ok, incline curls = curls on the incline bench right?
and i am not sure about the concentration curls...what might those be?
thnx man..

Peak is all genetic. Not much you can do.
-
There is NOTHING u can do to change the shape of the bicep, it is already genetically predetermined. ucan an only make it thw whole muscle bigger.

Agreed ox you have to work with what God gave you. One way to work best with what genetics you have is to hold it at the top for a second when doing curls. And concentrate in overall mass of the arm.
-
ya its pretty much all gentics, but hey, if ur like me then u have a more well rounded bicep and its more round than high. Well i think that is better than having a huge peak anywayz. i mean i got a well rounded bicep were as others in liftign at my school have this lil clump on there arm, it looks all deformed and ****, i think a big round bicep is even better.
-
I disagress....
I agree that it is genetically pre determined the peak/shape of your bicept, but, it is SO much better to have it peak than to be well rounded like me, girls like it more, and it looks much more muscualr....
As for ways to make it peak better, what worked kinda well for me, even though my bicept sucks, was doing the top half of a bicept curl, and holding it at the top...But only do that as one of your last exercises, not the primary mass buidler, it doesnt seem liek it would do much
-
yeah my bi's are more or less half and half... have rounded half peak... but my delt is still bigger then it! grr I just hope when i cut up it will look alot more defined and peaked.
-
well, thnx guys...i wish it wasnt genetics...im going to be depressed now lolz...oh well, the reason i wanted the peak was for women..haha, although i did get a compliment while armwrestling today from a VERY HOT girl and i was like, BOING that she even talked to me...lol, but ya..it was great...she was all, look at his arm...its so huge.. i was all, thats right, i got another body part thats huge too...but i kept that to myself :D thnx again guys later on
-
Just work your biceps hard, as soon as your curling 40s for 12 reps i gaurantee that you will have a peak, its all in the mass man.

i agree with u to an extent, i have a bit of a peak but its more large and well rounded, I would like a bigger peak just not like my friends have were it is just a lil clump with no width at all

unsupported concentration curls. I don't agree with Ox. Because if what he says is true then you could just do barbell curls for your bicep routine and that would be it. Just my opinion.

i know all that genetic stuff is true, but arnold didnt have high peaked biceps until his very late teens, and it seemed like they got taller as time went on

I saw some pics of Arnold when he was like 15 and he still had a small version of what he had when he won the Olympias. The exact same shape and everything just smaller. I'll try to find some pics.

not quite true, excersizes that emphaisme the short head make growth in the short head more then the long , so therefor you have a larger peak, i read about this in FLEX magazine, and FLEX says you can change the size of your peak, it just takes time.
try this:
4 sets incline curls
3 sets preacher curls
3 sets concerntration curls

I have a pretty basic kinda theory in my head rite now....when u work out and ure biceps grow, since they can't grow lengthways because they're attached at heads i.e. they can't grow up into ure shoulders or into ure elbows...but they can grow sideways and up and down....so whilst the ends stay the same the middle gets higher....basically i'm saying if u work out for years and years ure biceps are gonna peak anyway u just gotta put thr work in and stop worrying about the peak it'll come neway.
-
sorry if that means nothing to u i'm still a n00b

hahaah i never rememebr flex recomending that many, in THEIR program they recomend about 8-11 sets i belive, but in some of the pro's they feature the PRO'S routines have 25 sets or so,

Supination is the key. When doing dumbbell movements, at the top of your rep turn your wrists outward, and also use an offset grip, your thumg should be touching the end of the dumbbell.

............hmmmmmmmmmm. I must be one lucky bastard...I have a huge peak while still being pretty round. I don't know why I had to type a reply......I think I just am really bored.

I think just having a peak looks stupid I saw a pic of a BB the other day they were just peaks and his left was just the same peak, but less width. It look like it had been attached the wrong way around lol it was stupid.
