What should I eat before HIIT/sprint workout (I am a runner not a bodybuilder and am trying to increase performance and speed). I cant do this on a empty stomach because I will become dizzy. Should I eat oatmeal?
Thanks

Complex Carbs (i.e. oats), some simple carbs (i.e. fruit) and a lean protein source (i.e. chicken/egg whites)
I like to have Sweet Potato and Chicken Breast pre workout. I feel it gives me the most energy for the workout.
like these guys said, ive read/gathered that you should treat a HIIT session nutrition-wise just as a lifting session.
banana owns
potassium/sodium/simple carbs/complex carbs/tons of vitimins + minerals
all for about 160 calories
lets see banana gives you 100% your daily value of potassium
gatorade gives you 2% per serving
fructose gets a bad rep on this board, fructose is one of the best preworkout energy matrix's around, it keeps blood suger very even for a prolonged period of time, don't fear it use it when its best utilized (preworkout)

What he said. Yum...
Everyone is right so far. Most importantly though you want to fill up on complex carbs. Thats where you get your energy. I eat a large bowl of oatmeal before I lift/run.
