I'll run TM with you in a joint journal if you decide to do it.
Yes I'm inviting myself.
Lol thanks, I try To keep some good details incase I want to go back and reference anything in the future
I'm considering a short run of TM after New Years but I'm still up in the air. If not now than I'll give it a shot next summer after I trim up a bit
What other programs you looking into?
I recon youll squat a nice 1RM pr by new years eve
Hopefully if I can get my swagger back by then I'll put one up!
My squats went to **** while on 5/3/1 as well, I think more because of lack of frequency/total volume than anything - switching up to a 4x4 will help I think.
My squats did quite well on 5/3/1 at first, but I think as the max I was using closed in on my actual max it became too much. not enough volume, too much intensity?

That's what I told myself when I was considering the reset. Thanks fella!

I'm pretty much set on cutting back to 3 days a week for at least a couple months. If I don't try TM right off, I'll end up doing my own thing.
rough draft so far-
Day 1- Heavy squat, light bench w/ chains & bands, bench accessories
Day 3- Front Squat, row, deadlift
Day 5- Heavy bench, light squat w/ chains bands, squat accessories
New Page Bump
Saturday 12.1.12- Squat Day
Nice session today! After a lot of thought over this past week, I've decided to skip the next 5/3/1 cycle. I want to dial my intensity back a bit. I've mentioned my lack of motivation on squat days for the past few weeks and it really caught up with me last week. Without that hard mental drive, form can go to sh!t fast when you've got 90% of your 1RM on your max. my 350 double was ugly last week and I'm worried it's going to get worse.
I dialed back to 75% of my last working max of 370 and will use a 4x4 scheme for a bit. 4x4 worked well with me last year when I did LIME's squat program. even if I do 10 pound jumps, this will still keep the weight manageable for a few weeks so I'm not killing myself every session.
Squat
45 x 10
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 1
275 x 4

275 x 4
not hard, but it's not like they were warmup sets, it still felt like I did some work. Due to the lighter weight I was able to stay much more upright
RDL
135 x 10
185 x 10
185 x 10
185 x 10
Kept these light and really focused on form and getting that stretch in the hammies. I'm gonna be feeling these tomorrow- every time I re-introduce these to the routine, my hamstrings hurt for 2 days afterwards
Chin Ups
Thats going to be intense for the first weeks until you get used to it and figured out
Ill be sure to start conservative and monitor my recovery closely. The squat frequency should be helpful
woodster do you recon one day you could vid your whole workout and have audio of you speaking us through it? Id love to see that
à la LIME and BombD?
I could do that if I could find the time after a workout. During the week it probably wouldn't happen but perhaps after a Saturday session
Love seeing me some woodman saturday workouts. Get's me so pumped to get back to the states and get my saturday workout on at the Y.

Thanks dude! I usually end up getting a bit more depth on the later reps. The weight must help stretch everything out a touch more

Monday- 12.3.12 Macenko's 2012- Week 5A
Good session to start the week right here. No PRs, but everything felt controlled and smooth with no real grinders. Also really feeling like I worked my chest instead of my shoulders which is a good sign.
Bench
45 x 10
135 x 5
155 x 3
175 x 8
225 x 6 (should be 220 but fuk that)
245 x 4
260 x 3
260 x 3
260 x 3
230 x 8
Seated Row
100 x 10
170 x 10
170 x 10
170 x 10
not hard at all. With my BB rows going up, these don't feel any harder even with +5 a week
Resistance Band Flies
x10
x10
x10
x10
Dips
BW x 10
BW x 10
BW x 10
Would have done these right after the bench, but they were more of an after thought. No collarbone pain yet, just gotta make sure I don't go too deep with them.
There's nothing like a workout with no grinders yet great results ;)
You said it mate!
Nice Bench Session. And I feel the same way about weights that it shouldnt be 220 is always 225
Thanks fella! Week 5 dropped the 80%x5 out of the ramp up so that was even more of a reason to go straight to 225
Likey dat bench Woodman. 260 for reps? Noice.
