Um, I'm a hairy dude
This is sort of a weird question, I guess... So I'm bulking right now via GOMAD and lovin it. When it's time to cut and take some progress pics, will I look strange if I don't shave or wax? How does a six pack look with a "happy trail" over it? Thing is, I've shaved my body a couple of times when I was younger and I vowed never to do it again. I'm not going into any competitions so I'm really concerned how I'll appear to the ladies.
Anyone have example pics of looking cut but hairy? I hope that isn't too strange of a request...
Thanks.

Hey I'm hairy too and I was a Swimmer. Talk about awkward. If you aren't shaving because of ingrown hairs and general skin sensitivity (my big problem) I suggest you learn how to exfoliate well. I took some time to look up a lot of stuff and finally have found what works for me. I'm not even tryin to stay smooth, just keep all the hair down.
But when it comes down to it, when women look at you and you are hairy they think dirty/unclean/ unkempt. They are a culture of shavers, hair is taboo, so generally they don't have high opinion of it.
I'm not tryin to get you to shave believe me if girls liked me as my normal chia pet self I wouldn't shave at all.
Just something to think about.

Just trim. Use like a buzzer with a no guard on your Stomach/chest. I'm hairy too, I have hair basically EVERYWHERE. I just shave my face and arms. And I trim my legs and stomach/chest

I dont understand this waxing/shaving thing, MEN HAVE HAIR, its their nature, why in the world men wanna be hairless like women or like a new born baby.
shave if u compete otherwise dont, back then, alpha figures/ movie stars were hairy, shawn conrey and the guy from indiana jones " i cant remember the name right now"
another thing, ladies will like you if u r comfortable with ur self

I'm a hairy dude too; It's all good but I freaking HATE back hair. It annoys me to all extremes so I take care of mine.

I was EXTREMELY hairy but I just finished my last laser hair removal session. All totaled it was 15,000 but no I'm super smooth and happy!

Yeah, i'm hairy too.. I shave and don't get bumps and blessed with no back hair.
My arms, shoulders, chest, abs, is $10k. so far I've forked over $5k and need to fork over another $5k before I get the rest of my treatments.
Don't have the money right now though :/ Thought I would get a loan for the other $5 but it didn't happen.

I GOT HAIR LEG LIKE CRAZY. no back hair, and i have chest hair but i just shave it once it grows back just like my facial hair does. doesnt take that long.

hair happens. and there are women that like hair! they're usually the ones not interested in reapllying make-up and la-de-dah'ing around the mats and elipticals. ever met a cross-fit chick?

Thanks for all the thoughts. I think I'm going to stay natural for a while. I've seen worse than me, and at least it's not curly! In a way, the formation of my chest hair makes my pecs looks bigger than they actually are.
The last time I tried hair removal, I think about 9 years ago, I used that Epil Stop-n-Spray junk Holy crap, that burned the hell out of my chest. Very, very, very bad idea. Extremely painful.
Maybe I'll just grow some huge sideburns and become a Wolverine look-alike.

I was a wooki except for my bald head :( Literally hair everywhere,my ass looked like the werewolf in silver bullet.

I shave my armpits, my back (a girl-friend helps with this) and just the area around my abs. So far no lady has screamed in horror when they see me naked after a night of drinks. They scream in the morning :D *kidding.
P.S. pubic hair is a no no.

Dont your armpits itch from shaving? And deodorant?

Ive never had tha problem coz I shave in the direction the hair grows (is less irritating for the skin). You reminded me of the day I shaved and then committed the idiocity of using spray deodorant, it wasn't pretty. Now I just use a bar deodorant and it's fine.

Actually, I just came across the Phillips Bodygroom on Amazon. Lots of good reviews. I'm willing to try it. Now that I think about it, I'm going through all this work to build my body up. Why stop short by and not make my body bald? Come cut time, I'm gonna shave it all!!!!

My back hair really isn't bad, but the front is. So I shave every week or two. And here is an example:

I'm definitely hairier than than dude. I have back hair, shoulder hair and it's not quite symmetrical either. Hopefully that Phillips shaver works decently in the shower.
-
Hairy dude here as well. It sucks. I have to shave my back, shoulders, and chest. I would attempt my arms, but I know once I do that, I won't be able to stop, and will have to keep up with it.
-
I'm quite hairy also, but, I don't shave anything. Every now and then the wife will complain about my back hair, but, other than that, I don't have a problem with it.
-
Damn guys, I'm also hairy but I would never shave my body. I love my hair. I always keep stubble on my face and only trim "down there" to keep it from turning into a jungle. I love my chest hair like Austin does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH3WpQMChSI

I am hairy as hell. I have an electric razor (the good type, like what to barber uses) and each time I give myself a haircut (buzz down to a 1) I also shave my chest, legs, and arms (my back is not hairy, luckly). I then hop in the shower and use a razor blade to totally remove the arm hair, but leave some leg hair. I always used to be uber self concious because I was like sasquach with my leg and arm hair, and after I shaved it it spiked my confidence and it may have been the best decision of my life. Who cares what other people 'think' who don't have hair and don't have any of those problems, do what you want.
If you are worried about people noticing and thinking it is weird consider this - my roomates who I had lived with for 3 years didn't notice a thing until I said "hey check out my arms and legs" and they then said "oh cool"....so basically a big 'who cares'? The truth is, the hair thing is more about increasing your own confidence than improving what other people think ... I still believe being incredibly hairy is a total turnoff to women as well... I've had much better luck in that department since I have done away with the excess hair... but the confidence increase could also be the cause.
Do what ya want

You're not alone man.... sux2bhairy

Cool man!
I just got my Phillips/Norelco Bodygroom in the mail yesterday! I'm about to use it this morning. I'll let you all know how it goes.

The "MAN GROOMER" is awesome!!! you can get it at Target for $40. Best trimmer for the back and chest. Extendable arm lets you get to the back hair. Better than just regular buzz clippers.
-
Heres another picture of an example. Now as long as your not fat(like obv fat) then hair should be fine. I don't really get any on my back but my legs and face gets crazy. Have to shave/trim every other day.

What would you guys think of a electric trimmer for my legs? They're actually really hairy, but a trimmer wouldn't make it all gone. Probably just right.

IME most women aren't as turned off by hair as they act. Just like women will complain how they don't like muscle bound men, but are secretly attracted, most women are similar with hair. I've had several GF's who used to play with my chest hair in bed as once they get used to it find it sexy. As long as it looks like you try to take care of it and it isnt' anywhere too unusual like the back or ears. As someone else said, men are genetically hairier than women, it's part of having high test levels. As such women are genetically designed to respond to it. Culturally right now it's on a downturn, but that won't last forever most likely. Instictually it's right where it always was and realistically it's never a deal breaker unless the chick is a total prude (not my type anyway lol).
