impressive paused or not.
Only read this new, if thats the case then its a legit record imo. Only issue i had is with the press before the press command
see post #23. He didn't beat the press command.

-_-:: i know thats why i said its legit, cuz i saw isaku's comment about the audio being off
-_-:: i know thats why i said its legit, cuz i saw isaku's comment about the audio being off
lol I got confused because in that post you also said you had an issue with the press before the press command.
Amazing and inspiring. I thought he might of got more jacked up after that ha.
Amazing and inspiring. I thought he might of got more jacked up after that ha.
I'm not surprised he was chill at all. He's just like that. He'll do something ridiculous in the gym and it's no big deal to him. Stan and Creed and everyone else watching are shaking their heads and he just hops up off the bench and takes his wraps off like he's done it a million times.
Come to think of it now that he has done 722 and has that confidence that he lost after missing 716 three times we may see a scary number put up by him in the future. You could tell he was nervous as hell when he bombed. He was much more cool and collected this time attempting 716 and even more so going for 722. Now he can just have fun and that may yield something mindblowing.

It's a sign of his personality, cool, calm and collected.
Regardless of what people say about the pause or not, it's still a great lift. It takes a man and a half to hold up 722 in his hands. Most people can't squat or pull that much, let alone hold it over their chest. What an awesome lift.
It's very interesting, at least in my mind, that the only competition Spoto has in the bench world atm is the Iranian paralympic lifter Siamad something-rather. He's done 320 kgs (go figure lbs, 700 range) with a loooong pause (I mean really long) and the man has no legs O_o
Also he's not very old either, under 30. Alot under 30 if I recall! Years to come will be super exciting! Too bad they won't ever compete under the same roof considering which feds they take part in and because Siamad is an olympic lifter after all, but still! Let the race to 750 begin :D (Albeit Siamad hasn't done 720+ in comp at least, no idea about his gym max. Scary how he unracks it himself and just toys with 700+ though.)

Their is also a russian 23 year old who has done 695 with a pretty long pause-not nearly as long as the iranian but still longer then spoto-

This kid is a beast, hope there will be an epic battle between those 2! Holy fk I can't possibly imagine how somebody benches 315 kg (695 lbs) at 23 years old..... Some people will not even deadlift that amount ever in their lives.
Congratulations Eric!
The length of the pause is irrelevant in competition. You press when you get the press command. If you want to lollygag around with your macho self and pause the bench, go ahead and pause your max squats for an extended period of time and let me know how that works out for you.
If anything, a longer pause is a sign you are not holding the bar motionless on your chest.
A normal person wants that press command as soon as possible after the bar touches the bench.
What is he snorting lol? Amazing lift though that's crazy to get under that weight.

Nose Tork
So, so sick.
Would have been nice to have a bit of a longer pause to have no doubts about it but it's definitely more legit than Mendelson's.
Just an awesome feat of strength
Haters gonna hate.
what is the song playing when he presses the weigh
dude is a beast, and the most impressive thing is he looks smaller in frame/mass then alot of those huge benchers. Raw lifting is the best. I love seeing a lift like this, and his rep videos where he reps out 600 pounds are extremely impressive. Wouldn't be surprised to see him hit 750 raw

Not sure how his size has changed since The Backyard Meet, but I have to say he is quite possibly the thickest human being I've ever seen...and, when I saw him/spoke to him, he was standing in a room with some legit monsters to compare him to...Urbank, Brent Willis, Efferding, Lilly, Lilliebridges, etc
Eric is huge in the truest sense of the word

If you met him you think otherwise haha. He's ****ing huge he's just not super fat with a gut hanging over his shorts like a lot of benchers (no names shall be mentioned hahah)

This. I saw him at the Arnold... dude has so much muscle mass you'd think he was an off season pro-bodybuilder. Only person i've seen that looked "freakier" was Markus Ruhl
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, but I just saw this on Yahoo Sports, found it interesting that it made it there. Also interesting that they mistaken wrist wraps for gloves.

Also, "leather belt" by Spud Inc. lol
There are no world records in powerlifting only federation specific records.
There are no world records in powerlifting only federation specific records.
except NO ONE IN THE WORLD HAS EVER BENCHED THAT MUCH IN A SANCTIONED MEET BEFORE. S I guess if any lift can be called a world record it can be one that beats a previous ALL TIME best #.
