Is it bad for your shoulders - wide grip shoulder press?
Is db shoulder press starting wide and then straightening arms bad for your shoulders?
Thanks.

How wide are you talking about? I would think a wide grip is 2 to maybe 3 inches from a normal grip. I wouldn't think it should be bad.
As far as DB shoulder press is concerned; I start with the DBs close to me then once I have them up and come back down I use a wider range of motion.
Mick, unlike with bench where a wider grip helps to stretch and involve the pecs more, going too wide on shoulder presses limits the ROM (of the upper arms) which would make the exercise less effective.
A few inches wider than shoulder width is fine on shoulder press.

Yup, what he said :)
i make sure i have that 90 deg angle between my upper and lower arm when my lower arm is perpedicular to the ground when doing db presses
i use that same spacing when i use a barbell.
too wide, not enough ROM, too close too much triceps involvement.
you could always try DD's reverse close grip EZ bar overhead incline presses! (yes, it's a real exercise :) )
keep it to around shoulder width.
