I'm not talking resting metobolic rate but the calorie intake an average male needs daily to maintain his weight. MY RMR is like 2000 cals so I'm on a 1500 cutting diet, but is this too low?

1. What's you weight/height?
2. I HIGHLY doubt you need to cut, bulk.
3. Your maintenance isn't 2000 calories.

I'm 6.0 and weigh around 197lbs.
I believe its actually around 2500. If you're active I really don't think its necessary for you to cut that many calories. As long as you stay somewhere around that number you'll still be cutting down since the more muscle you build the more calories you'll burn. Just eat healthy, keep training hard and you'll be good broskie.
Yea at your height and weight id go on a little cut.
it depends on how active u are, LBM, and overall genetics. Eat at what u think ur maintenance is and see if u gain weight or lose weight, then adjust from there
I cycle 90 minutes a day at a high intensity, but road cycling is a passion for me and I don't do it strictly to burn fat. It's built me some pretty huge thighs, just don't have any upper body muscle!

Cheers! I only wanna cut at like 2lbs a week so I stay healthy. Will up it to at least 2000 and see how I go.
If you were truly eating 500 calories below your RESTING metabollic rate, I highly suggest you increase your caloric intake. Now.
