Working around a shoulder injury?
So about 2 weeks ago I was doing chest, incline dumbbell presses and all of a sudden my left arm went dead. Ever since I've been having difficulty making it through my entire workout and am battling some pretty intense pain after my workout. The stabbing pain is mainly in my rear shoulder / shoulder blade area, but the pain resonates down into my bicep as well (more of a dull pain). I know that just about all weight lifting exercises use the shoulders and I dont really want to stop completely....any suggestions? I took off a week and then went back to my routine but just dropped down about 30% on the weight and increased reps a bit. Still having the pain....
Tonight I took tylenol before working out, stretched in the sauna before lifting...made it through my whole workout, then hit the sauna again for some stretching, followed by the hot tub, then pool, hot tub, then pool...still had the pain, though not quite as intense as a week ago...
Should I continue lifting, or should I stop for a while? I don't want to lose the progress i've made but I also dont want to do any further damage.
