Gain 20lbs. of Muscle in Two Months?
Hello,
My name is Mike. I'm a brand new Bodyspace member. I'm glad to have discovered this resource; it's been a great way to get my stats, goals, thoughts, and progress all down in one place. It also seems very encouraging, and every bit of motivation helps for me!
I've just started working out at the beginning of this month. I had worked out before, but not with much consistency.
I'm already seeing progress and feeling great. One of the goals I put down in my profile is that I want to gain 20 lbs. of muscle in two months. Can anyone tell me if this is a realistic goal?
Thanks!
Mike
I am hoping for 10 in 2 years!
20 pounds? - I am simply hoping for 10 pounds over the next 2 years. I have been working out a long time, but just in the past year have I truly been bodybuilding for competition. Doing a show in late October and then taking at least two full years off to eat clean and train heavy as possible. Being 41, putting on quality muscle is difficult, but an extra 10 pounds on stage looks pretty impressive! I have always just trained for health, so it should be interesting to see what type of growth I can accomplish.
We are all different and some people are lucky and can put muscle on faster than others. I just know I am going to have to bust my butt for every pound of muscle that I put on my frame, especially being a lifetime natural athlete.
Good luck to you, eat quality foods, train hard and supplement. After training meal is essential or the work you just did just went out the window. Feed the muscle right away.

You guys won't believe this but....
Originally I had asked if it were a little too ambitious of a goal to want to gain 20lbs of muscle in two months.
Well, it turns out that I've actually gained 26lbs (hopefully of muscle :) ) in one month!! WOW!
My wife made some comments to her family at our baby shower this past weekend, about how I'm starting to get a little "bigger" and more muscular. Her family noticed as well, and they all began to guess how much I weighed.. figuring somewhere between 185 and 195. Considering I had weighed roughly 185 since I first reached that weighed at age 18.. that was definitely a safe bet! LOL
185 was actually my starting weight when I first began working out last month (July 8th).
So I hop on her Aunt's digital scale.. and the thing reads 211.2
I couldn't believe my eyes!! Neither could they! They all looked at it as I hopped off and on again several times.
Her Aunt asked me where I was hiding it all... then I flexed a double bicep. They get it now! LOL
I haven't done a bodyfat measurement.. but judging by sight.. and the fact that I don't look any fatter (LOL), I'd have to assume that this is muscle. I've been literally busting my @$$ six days a week, since my initial soreness went away last month during that first week.
I think I've shattered my goal... SWEET!!! Now all I have to do is cut it up by late next month. Easier said than done.. but hey, I've come this far! I'll try and get some updated pics on my bodyspace tonight.
Thanks for the encouragement peeps!
