hey dudes, I have a really bad toothe ache and I have to take NSAID's (alieve, tylenol, etc) before I go to bed or I cant sleep. I only take half the dosage which is 200mg. I read conflicting articles on the effects of taking NSAID's and muscle growth, does anyone know if 200mg will stop protein synthesis completly?!

No, i read an article where you can take up to 1.2grams and not exhibit any negative effect.
If you are in pain, I wouldn't hesitate to take whatever pain killers you need to handle the pain. It isn't like you are on NSAIDs for months on end.

yea the article I read they where on the maximum dosage of 1200mg (wtf) but I also read another article where 400mg had no affect. Weird.
If you stop all protein synthesis completely you would die. I dunno where you guys read this bull****. I'm sure NSAID's have some effect on protein synthesis and certain hormone levels, but these are most likely pretty insignificant.
Do you REALLY think taking 200mg of an anti-inflammatory drug is going to completely shut-down all repair functions in your body?

what about opiates? such as ********s? I have a bad back and take them daily. Does anyone know if they hinder muscle growth or protein synthesis in any way?
