in your opinion what is the best exercise for building big front delts?
Any overhead pressing movement.
DOn't neglect your medial and posterior heads though.
THe anterior head gets hit enough from chest day, and your overhead pressing, its the very reason why individuals have overdeveloped anterior heads that absolutly dominate the rest of the shoulder girdle, whcih can/will lead to injury.

military press
properly executed overhead db presses
not using the triceps as the prime mover
I always do press movements; db presses, barbell presses en presses behined the neck on the smithmachine.... this last exercise is killing my posterior for the most.
Some ketbell swings wil also work very well for the fronterior delt en trapezius
barbell overhead & Bench press.

fronterior
for building I would agree with above posts, dumbell military press.
for shaping front delts, I found the best exercise is doing side lateral raises while sitting at approx 60 degrees on an incline bench.

Barbell bench press.
military press
this

shaping?
shaping/defining. Presses, whether shoulder or chest are mass building exercises, lateral raises and dumbell flys which are different movements done with less weight are more defining and shaping exercises. IMO these exercises are the ones that build muscle striations
BB PRESS ftw

I've always been under the impression that body fat did that.
DB presses and bench press are the prime exercises for delts. But like someone mentiones if you do not work on middle and posterior delts you will not get the full effect.
I like Arnold Presses for the front delts
DB shoulder presses.
But for direct isolation use dumbell or cable front lateral raises.
i like heavy one arm presses to push presses for reps
Front plate raises.
