Weight lifting will NOT stunt your growth. Just lift with good form and eat.
i thought someone said that squats make you shorter??
well anyways i plan on doing dumbell squats tomorrow
any other recomended leg work outs for a noob? this is my second time doing my legs, the first leg day was just the video above and nothing else... is there something else i can add in or should i just do more reps this time?
wtf i cannot post videos yet...
heavy squats can compress your spine, but that doesn't "stunt" your growth.
do some hanging to decompress it, also a good grip workout.
For every month of squating once a week, before ur 22 yrs old, it represents 1/5th of an inch u just shafted ur self from growing.

serious?
Lifting weights does not stunt growth. Perhaps if someone began hitting your knees with a sledge hammer for 2 hours a day, THEN your height may be stunted. I would be more worried about stunting growth by not eating enough rather than lifting weights.
Probably damaging your growth plates can stunt your growth. So if you hurt yourself you may damage your growth plates and stunt your growth...so either do squats in good form or you may damage your growth plates.
I know alot of guys.. Now that i think about it just about all the buffed up guys in hs where kinda short and stayed about the same... Who knows this is only an assumption.. Cuz i lifted well not that srriously till 11th grade when i was already 5'11 or 6'
looll your 21... it will not stunt your growth.
if you still believe it does, then quit any sport with running, because running has shown to put 6-8x the pressure your bodyweight on your back.

Going taller is about genetics...he dont care how many CM you gained since 11th grade lol...i see that you didnt stunt your growth..you went 1-2 inches taller since you started weight lifting...and that's good, another person can grow 2-3 inches...

he was prob older. some old people are stuck on there theorys that theyve heard when they were working out when they were a kid. my friends dad still goes to the gym dirrectly after he wakes up because hey use to say that you shouldnt eat before you workout cause your body cant digest while your working out and it will all turn to fat.

Good because I'm 16 and plan on being taller. I wasn't even gonna consider to stop squatting anyways though lol

Do you want that to be you, man?
I started lifting at the beginning of freshman year at 5'6, at the end I was 5"9. And now in sophomore year I'm 5'10 (1/2)...
Notice anything?
Stunt growth is a result of vigorius exercise on during your body development ages. It really doesn`t matter if it legs or any other specific body part. You can force stunt your growth by working out with heavy weights before you during your growth ages. Avoid heavy workloads until you are an adult.

This post is from 2011, what the ****
Also I'd advice you to stop giving advices because you don't know ****. Saying that it will stunt your growth is just a misconception, there is no study that proves what you are saying, and it's kinda weird since I am currently 6'0 and I have been training in and out since I was 14 and I'm 16 in a few days. I am growing at a rapid phase per year now, so no, it won't stunt your growth.
