Age 35, too late too begin bodybuilding?
I'm 35 and looking to start bodybuilding. I've done some weight lifting off and on over the past 15 years, but I've never been consistent or dedicated enough to see any signficant results. I'm wondering if anyone around here has started bodybuilding at this age and seen some big muscle mass gains? Or is it too late for me to have the body I want.
What do I want? I'm currenty 6 ft. tall, 155 pounds, 34 inch waste, small frame, small wrists, some belly fat. I feel like a good goal would be to put on about 15 to 20 pounds of lean muscle over the next two years. I realize that because of my smaller frame (nothing I can do about) that I have to be realistic in what I can accomplish. I'm not looking to become the next Mr. Olympia obviously, but I'd like to think I could still look pretty ripped if I put in the work.
It would really help me to find some people around here who have started at a late age and seen some real results. Or if there are any well known bodybuilders who have started at a late age.
I'm also trying to figure out the best way to go about this. I've read a couple of good bodybuilding books. Read a lot about diet. I just don't know if diet and hard work are enough, or if I should be trying to get into supplements more, or even consider seeing a doctor sometime to check my hormone levels and see if I can get a legal prescrip for hgh or steroids.
I've seen the daily supplement regimine's of some people around here, and it looks pretty complicated if you ask me. I'd like to think that following a strict diet of protein, fat, carbs, calories would be enough.
Anyhow, Just curious if anyone here has some good advice for me?
