Jumping Rope & Bad Lower Back Pain
Basically, right after Christmas, I started jumping rope outside in a yard. I would do it EVERY day, it was a 4lb Weighted Rope, and I did 6 sets of 50 reps. After about the 10th or 11th consecutive day, I noticed real bad back pain. I took a day off, it healed a bit, then tried another session of jump rope. My lower back hurt again.
My guess is that my technique is off, OR the weighted rope is having a worse effect than an unweighted rope. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem besides doing another form of cardio?
With the weighted jump rope, I actually felt like it cut my body into a tighter form. I heard that when men jump rope, they jump crooked. Could this be why I'm getting lower back pain? It felt like my hip was being disconnected...
