? For Self Employed Trainers (Fees for use of gyms)

I'm about to open a small gym and I intend to allow trainers to train clients there. I'm looking for some feedback from trainers about the fees you pay gyms to train there. I know of a few gyms in my area that require both the trainer and the client to have memberships and also pay a fee per session. I am considering offering unlimited training sessions for a monthly flat rate.This would be a great deal for trainers and help get my business going.
I'm thinking $50 a month for unlimited training sessions and no membership required for clients. And possibly $100 per month for 24 hour access.
I would like to hear some of your thoughts on this. Thanks

I have a buddy who owns his own private club. He charges trainers $10 per every hour of training they do.

I think you're going to have a difficult time netting a decent profit from those numbers. $50 a month is an absolute steal for any freelance trainer

I think you missed a 0 - $500 would be the absolute minimum I would charge for rent to any trainer, no matter how busy they were.

What you could do is set it up as an option - either $10-15 per session or a flat rate of $500-1000 depending on what you want. This way trainers will be more likely to come in since they can start (if they aren't too busy) paying less and then hop onto the full time rent agreement afterwards.

I pay $1000 rent at my studio for 3,000 square feet shared with only four people - right now I'm getting hosed because the owner sucks but that's about to change.

I would definitely charge FAR more than 50 a month for a trainer to have full access to the gym. In all honesty, charging by session would be far more beneficial and even appealing to the trainers. As I trainer, I know this all too well. I would rather go somewhere that is going to charge me 10-20 a session, just in case I only have 1-2 clients that want to use that facility. Charging a larger amount per month would be a definite turn off for me, since the training field is a very unsteady occupation, especially as a freelance trainer

The small, local gym I go to charges trainers $20/month/client. I'm not sure if they make the trainer and client have a membership on top of that or not.

If they're independent trainers then def charge per client/per hour. If not, they will take advantage of your place.

Now, if it's an employee you will be paying their personable liability I insurance, some taxes, etc... Do a 60/40 split where you get 60% and they get 40%.

A Golds gym here that was popping years ago charged their Indy trainers $250 "booth rent" a month and trainers were happy with that. Also, find out the policies of other gyms around you and be competitive if not a little better/cheaper, but remember to not give anything away.

I independently train my clients through the gym that I belong to. Because I have my own liability insurance, my gym owner is only taking 25% per session, which is better than some other area gyms. Memberships aren't required for clients, but obviously it's better if they decide to join, this way it benefits the gym as well.

i pay 1400 a month.

u cant even get a gym membership for 50 a month.

i think $10 per hour and cap it at 200 is fair for u and the trainer

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I realize $50 a month is very cheap, I may charge a little more but this would be a "Limited Time Offer" only just to get it rolling and get some people in the door.

Charging per session is asking people to try and take advantage of the system. Keeping tabs on how many sessions a trainer has performed is going to be a huge pain in the ass. Give trainers an opportunity to et going by first month free and lower rate then stick with something like $500/month. They either pay to play or they don't and that is all you have to worry about.

Yes that's one of the reasons why I'm thinking of charging monthly EFT only so I dont have keep track of it or argue with trainers about how many sessions they did.Or they pay cash up front.
