Good Powerlifting Numbers at 165?
To put it bluntly, powerlifting has peaked my interest.
I have not been lifting for terribly long. I took a weight lifting class in high school taught by our school's football coach, and did that routine for about 2 years(though missing a decent amount time though with injuries), and for about the past 6 months or so have been doing Layne Norton's PHAT.
I'm about 5'7 and 165 pounds, but have been bulking for a while and could stand to cut at least a good ten pounds or so. For the 165 weightclass at college age, what would be some good numbers?
I haven't maxed out in a while, but using some online calculators to estimate my numbers, I could probably bench in the area of 275, and squat and deadlift somewhere in the area of 350 each. (Had some lower body injuries, which is why my squat and deadlift are so low, but they are rapidly rising)
I'm definitely not expecting to win, but with those numbers could I do a competition without making a fool out of myself?
