Yes it did.
You are talking out of your ass. You know absolutely nothing about Crossfit if you think that's the case. I'm serious. Anyone who has the view that someone will only do well at Crossfit if they were previously elite at another sport does not understand the fundamental ideas behind Crossfit, and in all honesty you probably have never done Crossfit. And you probably take supplements.
In b4 you say Crossfit is just circuit training.
I've done Crossfit before. My workplace in fact has a FULL FACILITY designed for Crossfit where classes go on 3x a day. I've trained with several types of people including Crossfiters. One of my contacts, she owns her own gym, so you know nothing about who or what I know or what training I've attempted.
My initial gripe about Crossfit was about improper coaching that is performed in several facilities and the injury rates associated with it. There are good coaches out there and it does introduce people to different styles of fitness, but there's some damage to the fitness industry it is also doing as a result.
What we could do is find the best athlete in the world and mold them into a great crossfit competitor which I think sword was implying. The people you see in the top competitions didn't start from crossfit, guarantee that.
Thank you.
This is the entire point of Crossfit. We don't ever claim to make somebody the best at any given sport. We're for people who want to be good at all sorts of stuff. And the sport of Crossfit evolved out of people testing to see who was fittest all-around, not just in one discipline.
Somehow though, Crossfit has evolved to produce some pretty good weightlifters as well.
One of the crossfit games competitors trained at my university's gym. I've seen him squat, with perfect narrow stance form, 4 plates for reps. He can't weigh much more than 180, and all his lifts are fuarking joocy. As long as your making gainz(strength, aesthetic, endurance, whatever) then keep it up brah. Just dont shove it in someone's face if they aren't interested(not saying you do), it's the same as religion in that aspect.
does it rustle your jimmies knowing that i do crossfit, and i snatch and clean and jerk what you do, and i weigh 30 pounds less? and i'm taller?
prolly the crossfit that made you taller amirite

I'm just glad crossfit is getting many new people into training and exercising.
Anything that attempts to help the growing obesity problem, I'm all for.

I just joined a crossfit gym. I've been lifting for years, decided to switch it up, if I don't like it I'll just go back to picking up heavy things and setting them down

Crossfit at a higher level is no joke. Most of the "athletes" are yoked and in awesome shape. Really though is the average Crossfit person any worse than the average gym rat doing curls in the squat rack?
You are so wrong it's not even worth arguing with you
Find someone who you think is the best athlete in the world
Put him in a Crossfit competition
See how he does
Really? Froning trained "CrossFit" for one year before becoming "Fittest on Earth" gtfo with that bs. I put Crossfit in quotations cause he doesn't even train CF.
All the military guys like CF cause it's not so different than their circuit training.
-
LOL at crossfit being something new. In high school I did strength training, heavy metcons, long metcons and all sorts of hybrid training.
This is nothing new and have been training my friends on the side like this for a long time and tailor it to their specific goals. Like basketball, triathlons and volleyball.

Thank you. Made me LOL when he said I was wrong about my statement about athletes coming from other sports beasting in Crossfit when training for it.

Froning had a baseball scholarship. He also did very well in high school football, that's why if you have seen any of his videos on youtube, he works with a high school as a strength training and helps with the football drills
Of course high quality athletes can excel elsewhere. I picked up hockey late and life and a lot people think I'm good. I also played every sport growing up, so picking up another sport isn't as difficult.

I think it's cool, I have never been to a box, but it gets a lot more people to get up off their asses and get healthy. Plus, no bigger douche than a dude who curls right in front of the dumbbells and has never trained legs. I'd take a crossfit self-righteous douche over hammer-curl, everyday is arms day, chicken legs guy.
That is the Olympics of crossfit competitions. Just compare that to regular bodybuilding competitions. Doesn't even compare.
You said ANY GUYS JACKED plain and simple none of these guys are special with regard to genetics or or anything they simply train hard and most are either CrossFit coaches or own affiliates. Most are 150-215lbs and 5'6''-5'11''
I am going to be competing at regionals against guys who all look just like that.

So I'm not a big fan of all the kipping and whatnot that's often shown in Crossfit, and the goofy excersizes. However! Seeing DLB doing this "CrossFit" looks crazy!

This.
And if they get hurt, they're just giving therapists better job security.
Inb4 Hamburgertrain negs everyone itt.

Crossfit isn't that bad IMO, but I can't stand endurance stuff. I like to take things at my own pace because staying fit is long term and I want to enjoy myself while still being challenged. Speed/endurance stuff sucks for me.
But I do 'mire crossfit sloots. And their Toes-to-bar version of hanging leg raises have made my abs juicy unlike any other exercise I've tried.
-
Ugh.. there's like 5 members in my gym doing cross-fit like chit. And they do the same set of exercises every single day with possibly 1-2 days off. And they don't even look like they lift.
-
I wouldn't mind trying Cross Fit, maybe in the near future
