Ketosis after 1 day???
Is this possible?? I started this program on Monday morning. That day i was tired and felt like ****.. the next day, i was energetic, clear headed and alert.. Today i noticed that my urin smelled funny.. NO im not sticking my head in the pot, but you know what i mean.. From what i read on here most people's bodies take 2-3 weeks to convert.. Is it possible it can happen in one day??
BTW my carb intake is around 20-25g a day. ive been using the recipes on Linda's site - http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html . is there any way to find out if im imagining this or its for real??
Thanks guys.

Its possible. Have you been in keto before? I took 3 weeks off of it, and it took me only a few days to get back into it

It's possible. I get into ketosis in less than 24 hours. Becoming fat-adapted, however, can take a couple of weeks.

Sure, its possible, particularly if you're eating at a significant deficit.
Dude, Chi-Chef... where do you work?

Ok thanks.. Im going to grab some test strips from wally world today to make sure.. Nope this is first i have been on low carb, mod protein and high fat..
The only thin comparable was i was on high protein, low fat, low carb for two months a few years back..
Thanks for the feedback, i guess i was wondering if it was hopeful thinking our i really was in Ketosis..

Fasting can get you into Ketosis faster... Did you eat much that day?

I've been in for three days now and my ketostix was just before the last indicator that you're in keto (the second darkest one). Two days ago was in the third (two after the 0). So yeah, as long as you're exercising and keep those carbs as low as possible (my diet is only 14g a day!) you're body will be forced to rely on fat and protein.
Get ketostix! They're cheap as and come in a 50 strips box. Here in Australia I paid $11.70 for them.

Just out of curiosity do you drink a lot of water? I've been on keto for 4 days now and I'm still only showing up on the lightest pink tier with my Ketostix. I heard that sometimes water can wash it away but if you are in deep purple after such a short time I'm worried I might be doing something wrong. Do you drink other beverages aside from water?

I wouldn't worry. You are either in Ketosis or not... the levels of colour on the sticks only show your level of hydration as more pee = less ketones per litre of pee!!
If you are showing light pink, you are doing it right

Sorry.. work is crazy... Anyways i have been drinking about a gallon of water a day and keeping carb intake between 20-30g a day.. I got some sticks the other day and according to them i'm between 40 and 80mg. I have not started an exercise program yet but will start hitting the gym Sunday. Ill be starting with aerobic and moving to weightlifting about 2 weeks after that..
thanks again..

i always hit keto w/in 24 hours. if you're curious if you are in fact in ketosis, get some sticks and test it.

I started Keto 1 week ago, and I too entered within 24h. I have done keto before, but never have I entered ketosis this fast. Brain fog, lethargy, all that is already over. Feels good man.
