Beef Heart Questions?

Hey,

I heard beef heart is nearly all protein, and usually cheap. Does anyone have the nutrition information for beef heart?

Also, how much does a 1lb beef heart cost usually?

Couldn't tell you the cost. I wouldn't dare eat organs of factory farmed animals.

Nope l0l, I've heard of hagos which is a sheeps stomach stuffed with all the major organs and oatmeal I believe....

I've also heard that it's a bit tough to chew, is that correct? I'm thinking I might slice it then stick it in a crock pot to stew.

Very hard to chew, you want to cook it in a stew over a long period of time at low fire. I've had it and if not cooked well (slowly) it is nearly impossible to eat.

Anyone know the price of beef heart? Might make it a staple in my anabolic diet protocol. Chopped meat is getting boring.

Last time I cooked heart I bought it sliced and fried it up in the pan with onions the same way I make liver. Wasn't tough at all.

As for how much it costs, probably around $1 per lb.

WOW... that's really ****ing cheap. Only question is why am I not eating 2 lbs of this a day right now?
