Adidas, sambas.
You can customize your colors just like chucks.

At that point you could tell he was just trying to get the weight up and didn't think about pausing it lol More Pride then anything else

They're adidas superstars aka the shell toe adidas - look really close to sambas though. And Jason is right you can customize the superstars online as well as sambas... Great shoes to squat in imo

Anyone have Adidas Sambas and Adidas Superstars? I'm curious as to which are better for squatting. I have Sambas and really liked em before I got WL shoes.
The deadlift warm-ups where great to watch, intense atmosphere!
Surprised babyslayer didn't use straps for the warm-ups to save his hands.

Superstars have a nice flat surface with very slight heel elevation that's perfect for squatting. I used to wear a pair of them back in the day while squatting, but I've always deadlifted in NZAs so I had less meat under my feet. I can't really make a comparison to Sambas since they don't make a wide shoe in that style.

I mean he is around what 6'3 and over 300lbs so its not that surprising. He has been one of the strongest guys on these forums since he was about 15. I was more surprised that he could have won the meet if not for the injury to his hand.

I think its good, too much success too early might kill drive. He's a strong MO FO and will be winning plenty of meets in his future.

Are these women's shoes? It says so for that shoe. Is there a men's version or is the same style for men/women?

So superstars are wide while sambas aren't wide? I was actually going to get sambas, but this would change my decision.
Amazing strength by George! From youtube it seems like a 900 training attempt might be on the cards in a few weeks.
With the issues he has with his hands, i'm surprised he hasn't tried hook-grip yet, it works for Vince urbank and Hickson.

In one of the customization menus you choose mens.

"With the issues he has with his hands, i'm surprised he hasn't tried hook-grip yet, it works for Vince urbank and Hickson."...Agreed, Stan and I played around with hook grip yesterday for the first time and it felt pretty good.

Remember- the thumb is just a wedge to stop bar spin, its not supposed to hold the bar up. I personally think hook grip is awsome and would love to see it catch on further in the powerlifting community.

Very thick hands and short to medium type fingers will prevent it from catchin on in the future.
Hickson commented on that vid saying bs is looking for 900 x amrap this coming week? da fuq. inb4 900x3 video.
Most people around here talk about it as if they were able to switch over to hook on a dime, with the only drawback (of course) being thumb discomfort. I literally have a worsened grip when I attempt to use it. Even my DOH feels more stable. The bar seems to just pull away quicker when I apply the thumb.
29mm or more and its hard for me to lock the hooky in, 27-28 and that bytch aint moving. I do kinda have long, thin, monkey'ish fingers so I loved it the first time I ever tried it. With hook grip I can hold waaaaay more then I can full rom deadlift.
I can definately hold more with the hook but it aint much. The most I ever did doh was 495 but I hooked 545 so its more but not enough to talk about.

I would just say don't try jumping in with heavy weights too fast, but your thumbs do get used to it quickly.
I decided to start using hook grip along time ago because I was worried about bicep tears etc but I didn't want to wear straps either. To me using hook grip feels more comfortable than straps and I feel like I could hold any weight, if only I had the back and leg strength of George or Stan to match!
