Low carb diet
Hey everybody,
I was just wondering if carb loading is a very important part of the low carb diet while lifting. I had been lifting on this diet without carbloading at all for about a year, then went to college and stopped for a semester, but now i want to get back into it, and im just wondering how muscle recovery and muscle growth is effected by not eating very many carbs.
THanks

It really depends on how low your low carb is.
If below 100g per day net carbs I would say yes, definitely carb-up, otherwise you won't sufficiently replenish muscle glycogen and your workouts will suffer.

Ryan, depending on the intensity and duration of your workouts, if you do not take in any carbs pre-workout as in a TKD and do not carb load, ones workouts will begin to suffer. It is fact that glycogen can no be supplied strictly from conversion from fat in suffice amounts to properly fuel a bodybuilders workout in the gym. We must replenish glycogen levels and stores cyclicly to properly fuel our workout, thus a pre-workout shake as in a TKD or a Carbup as in a CKD.

Iwas also assuming that Ryan meant under 100 grams of carbs as well. :)
