Im thinking about starting to take protein and have some old muscle milk that expired in April of last year. Is it still good or should I just stop being cheap and buy some new stuff?

Three years after the expiration date? I just don't want to get the ****s or something
in on thread, also wondering if powder REALLY does expire.
Yes, it does. I bought some protein that was OBVIOUSLY expired. Well it was only obvious until I got another bag of it, because I had never had it before. But If it tastes REALLY bad, I mean just God awful, you feel like you want to throw up and it completely ruins your appetite, then it is spoiled I finished the whole bag of spoiled protein though ( I just thought it sucked at the time) and I didn't notice really and bad effects except it just tasted really bad.
But muscle milk is pretty good from what i've had, so if it tastes bad, yes it is definitely expired. But I've never had a bag that I have had long enough to expire.
everything expires.
everything expires.
Except honey. That stuff can survive 100 years after a nuclear war.

It's more of a how long is protein powder good for question
Other websites sell things that are well past their expiration dates. I would give it a shot

Wot. Why a nuclear war? How about in my grandmas cabinet?
everything expires.
Twinkies?

Grandmas cabinet is far more terrifying than any nuclear winter...
I just found a nearly full 5.75 lb container of True Mass that expired in 2009. It appears to be perfectly fine, texture is fine, tastes fine. Protein CAN go bad if stored in the wrong conditions, but if stored in the right conditions it can clearly last quit a long time.
hahaha notice that Big83mike hasnt posted anything since taking the protein hahahahahhahaha, worth the bump.
Did OP die? I need to confirm if protein powder does expire. I have 3/4 a tub that says expired in May of 2013
If it's stored with the lid on in a dry area that doesn't isn't experience radical temperatures I would suggest it be fine.
Texture
Taste
Smell
Would be the biggest indicitors if it were no good.

Well, did you puke?
They do have a printed expiration date for 'safety' reasons.
Currently using a tub of muscle milk that is 2 years past expiration date. Got about 1/4th left. No issues whatsoever.
I haven't paid for supplements in prob about 3 years.
