So as I said previously, you consume more than 60-80g
My post from earlier in the thread
That's because they don't. There was someone (might be OP or the guy with the pics) claiming "low protein intake". Turns out he was only considering "complete" proteins as protein and didn't count the other 40g+ from beans, oats, nuts etc so in reality he was close to 1g/lb lol

Also missing ITT: Identical twin eating 1g/lb in protein or more and their progress as a comparison

The protein requirements issue is probably a harder nut to crack, seeing as how this would turn the industry upside down, but I'm curious to see how the fitness world looks at this topic in 10, 20 years from now.
My bet would be that protein requirements are vastly overstated and the average gym-goer can perform just fine on way less than currently recommended. More importantly, I think many would benefit from worrying less about protein intake and instead find a way of eating that generally fits his/her lifestyle and preferences to achieve the goal without much effort. Effortless dieting beats worrying/stressing over 1.3 or 1.8 grams of protein per lb/kg/lbm whatever per day.
I don't claim to know the future but you can see the same thing happening right now; people trying to hang on to the "you need more proteins!!" school of thought, just like the bro's who couldn't accept you don't have to eat every 3 hours. People who eat 100g per day are showing it's not problem whatsoever and with enough time the norm will change.
Sir, you have interesting things to say.

No (sorry, it sounded sarcastic, I should have said it wasn't). I thought you had an interestering outlook on our future. I didn't rep you?
Edit : I guess I didn't. Repped

Okay, thanks lol.
It's fun to think about the future. Totally unrelated, but just look at cars for example; I bet in 50 years people are looking back and laughing at these stupid people in the 2000's driving in cars on a COMBUSTION engine running on oil and gas. How ****ing ancient is that?
brb drilling into the earth to get oil while sun, wind and water energy are always and unlimited available
Yes I drive a car and I love it, but things can be so much better. Although, the first electric car I'll drive has to look more many than the shyt I see on the streets today.
Strong off topic, sorry brohammed.

Also just thought I'd say, it's all well and good if people are doing well on 80g etc, but I love steak, eggs, bacon, cheese, kangaroo, GY etc so why wouldn't I want to eat lots of protein lol

This. Even if I didn't focus on protein intake, my love of meat, Dukend style parfaits and cheeses would make sure I'd never be deficient. Actually I think I'd eat more protein if I stopped tracking.

I think (not that I agree with the following) some of it has to do with these "health gurus" and the way our society is heading. A lot of these massively skinny males are saying you don't need much protein. Making claims that protein ruins your health. Making it sound as if people that consume anything outside plant protein in small amounts will leave you a zombified overweight cancer health mess. Not saying this is everyones reason, but this seems to be the general belief out in the internet. I would provide links, but I am on a tablet. :)

bodybuilders usually overestimate their protein needs as they think more protein = more muscle growth
While there is no evidence that a surplus of protein is bad in healthy individuals, you wont really gain more by eating more protein.
1.5-2g/kg is more than enough.

Its absolutely pointless to say anything factual at this point.

The point is not to have everyone follow our lead, the point is that you can get by with much less and be fine. There may be a day where meat is not readily available or you just don't feel like cooking. No need to freak in that situation.
With this information if you think about it, it would be REALLY difficult to **** up a cut. You would really have to go out of your way as long as you're counting calories.

we didnt go through anything. because thats assuming I eat the wquantaties I gave earlier like 50g of protein from milk. I dont get that everyday again as said before I might do 30 hell sometimes none at all. I dont eat the same amt everyday I go based on my appetite. holy crap at being so hostile about it lol. so it is not innacurate still to say 80. it would be more assuming I ate exactly what I listed but that doesnt happen everyday.

Just curious, do you count calories and/or macros at all or do you just eat whatever floats your boat?

I never told anyone to eat my exact diet. What does what I eat have to do with not needing as much protein as many believe? The fact that a good deal of my protein comes from incomplete sources should really drive it home.

Just saying I wouldn't (as in me) go on one what person does/says (you) who's had a history of stupid extreme diets threads that haven't exactly got anywhere

As someone who's been there, you can get away with lower than optimal protein only for so long. When fattys start training, they can put on muscle and still cut some fat b/c off all that excess.
At some point you're going to need to up you're protein (as I did). Personally, I dropped from about 280-290 to about 190 in a very quick amount of time, and lost alot of muscle due to such a large deficit. I'd never recommend it to anyone, ever
