he must like to pitch with men on base. He did something similiar last start, think he had bases juiced no outs gave up two runs then worked his way out. Kelly Shoppach plays for the Rays now, thats a name I havent heard in a long time. Didnt he bat .018 for the Sox in his time here?
weakest looking lineup ive seen ina while
and i hate dais-k
really i do
i wanna like him but i just cant........not cuz he sucks........but cuz of how he sucks.......he sucks cuz he walks 6 guys a game and he is afraid to pitch to contact.............our bullpen will get taxed that day and possibly affect us for the next game
daisk is a scared little pussy
And while we all bitch about how much we hate dicek, he pitches a quality start, strikkes ouut 7 and only gives up 4 hits. He put us in a situation to win tonight, and if we lose its the high school lineup we put out there, not dicek

Weird to have 2 off days so close together
As much as a waste as it'd be, I think Beltre should be hitting in the 1st or 2nd spot right now, just until PD comes back which should be like 11 days? But until then we need a solid BA in the top of the line up, and I dont think Nava can deliver there.

I agree. Also want to suggest Dice-K replace Papelbon as the closer until Pap returns to form, just spit ballin' though.

why the fuk would you put our 3r best power hitter leading off? You may as well suggest ortiz leading off and Lester batting cleanup.
Beltre is a power hitter and should bat somewhere in the 3-6 part of the lineup. Thinking he should leadoff is borderline retarded.
You think Petey will be out 11 days? He broke his foot. He isn't gonna see the field until August or September

I know it sounds drastic, but think of it this way. He has what 12 HRs, thats what I said would be put to waste. But, we need someone with a high BA up top. Didn't Pedroia have better power numbers than Beltre too. Wouldn't it make more sense to bat the guy hitting for a better average in the beginning of a line up where he can get things started, too? I don't want to know Nava's stats since batting 2nd but I know they have been darn right pathetic.
He was taking his grounders yesterday(well wednesday noww.) on his knees. He was put on the 15 Day. It's been 4 days, and he's probably the most stubborn player you'll find. He'll find a way to play as soon as he can. It's only a broken foot not a torn ligament, it could keep a child down, but not a proffesional athlete. He will be back by the end of the All star break.

By the end of the All Star Break? Are you serious Clark?
Maybe Kevin Cash can lead off
Now Varitek is down?? WTF is going on up there guise?

Of course he's put on the 15 day DL...where else will they put him? 60 day?!?!?
And coming back by the end of the All-Star break is pretty much impossible...that's less than 2 weeks. broken foot is not the same as a sprained ankle...
Now Varitek is down?? WTF is going on up there guise?
Yes Varitek...broken foot.
Delcarmen...sore forearm.
It's ridiculous...

Just because you have a high OBP doesn't mea you should lead off. Power hitters typically have higher OBP because they get on base often. Should Barry Bonds have led off during his epic HR seasons? He had a stupid OBP.
No, Pedroia doesn't have better power numbers than Beltre. They may have the same # of HRs, but Pedey's is skewed by a 3 HR game and a huge first month.
And did you say "it's only a broken foot"? You do realize that's the part of the body that you put all your weight on, right? You make it seem like he's out for 8 weeks with a broken pinky.
If you think he will be back in 2 weeks you're out of your mind. It doesn't matter how stubborn he is, he's a multi million dollar investment on a billion dollar company. He's out for 8 weeks....I don't care that he was fielding grounders from his knees
well more injuries seeems to mean more wins for the sox
let's get to #1 by end of the long weekend
One of my friends was at some Sox charity event up in Lowell last night and Varitek was there, apparently walking around completely fine no crutches. His injury is a foot or ankle isnt it?

I saw that on the news but when he was walking you could clearly see he was limping.
I saw that on the news but when he was walking you could clearly see he was limping.
thats weird. I asked her and she said she got his autograph and they all noticed that he definately was not limping. No way is he pulling a Manny, maybe the pain killers wore off..surprised he isnt on crutches
I never thought I'd be this upset about a Varitek injury. LOL @ Pedroia being back by the ASB. No.
If the team starts losing, this season is going to take on a 2006 type feeling. Injuries absolutely crushed us that year too.

Sadly, when the Sox don't make theplayoffs you'll hear morons come out and say "see, I told you they weren't going to be a good team this year!!" and fail to see a dozen injuries, most flukey, is what will be the end of this team.
If we were at full strength, we would be one of the best teams in the majors.

Why are you being such a negative Nancy lately? GTFO.

I still believe, especially with the starting pitchers we have.

Have you seen the lineup we will be putting out there until a week or so after the ASB? We are going to play about 10-15 games with:
Scutaro SS
Nava LF
Youkilis 1B
Ortiz DH
Beltre 3B
Drew RF
Hall 2B
Cameron CF
Cash C
Nava an Cash aren't ML talent. Scutaro isn't a leadoff hitter...he should be batting 9th. Cameron is playing hurt, and playing pretty sh!tty, so he and McDonald (another non-ML talent) are platooning.
