hey i jammed my pinky finger yesterday playing basketball and i haven't had a chance to see our athletic trainer and i have practice tonight. Should I just leave it alone or tape the pinky to the ring finger?

Since when do you need to see a trainer for jammed fingers? Tape it up if you want, i generally don't do anything with them and just deal with it till it stops hurting. Sure it might be painful but usually not debilitating?
jammed pinky... u poor thing
ice and elevate for 2 to 5 months and then see a specialist. might lose it but luckily you have 9 more to spare.
When I jammed my thumb playing basketball, it turned completly blue / black....only took a week or 2 to heal up all the way. You should be fine.
I go by R.I.C.E. Rest Ice Compression Elevation. it changes over the years like price where the p is protect. if inflamed, take some nsaid like ibuprofen. what i remember when i was trying to be an athletic trainer was i tapped the distal part of the finger lightly. if there is a pain, it can be fractured. its common and you should be fine. when i wrestle, my fingers get caught in peoples shirts all the time.
