Good luck in UPT selection Board. It's a hard board to get into. Don't quit, and don't forget the the AFRES and Air Guard. These are two other good places to try. Guard and Reserve is an awesome alternative to active duty, many have said it's better than active duty. I know I was, been since 89, 14 yrs enlist and soon to be Capt.
Former PN1, commissioned last May and waiting to start flight school in Pensacola.
Congrats on being selected for UPT. Don' t forget where you came from, keep your wings level and eyes in the sky, good luck!
Just graduated BCT Im in the ARNG in DFW Texas. Im back home for right now may be leaving to Ft. Benning in a week or may be staying here for the state run OCS program. Ill find out when I talk to my NCO's.
I am waiting to be shipped out to Navy bootcamp in about two months..
is there a gym located at A-School? or I just have to wait til my first assigned base to workout again..
is there a gym located at A-School? or I just have to wait til my first assigned base to workout again..
You can expect a decent gym on any base large enough for an A-School. You can also expect regular PT as an A-School student. Standard formation stuff of situps/pushups/whatever then a run, probably three times a week. But your evenings and weekends will be "mostly" free.
thx, man! that's great news. I know we'll still have regular PT's during A-School, Pushups/situps/running, that's kinda fun, but as long as I still get to workout with weights a few times a week I'd be fine..
For those in the reserves that are in lower CT you're always welcome at my house.

I'm glad to see there is a place for us military folk to talk. I am currently a US Army Reservist. Just came off another mobilization ( last one was DC after 9/11) at Ft. Jackson as a Drill Sergeant, currently in Nursing school and will be back on AD soon after school is over (commissioned ofcourse) an old E7 has new tricks :-). I want to serve my country as long as I'm physically and mentally able to. Military Members of any type or branch YOU ROCK!!!! Nuff said.
^^^^^^^welcome too the family. I thought this forum had died. Nobody seemed to EVER post in here.
Quick question: Do you guys have an opportunity to work out where you are stationed similar to a regular health club? Also, for people overseas (Iraq, ect)....is there any resources to train at?

Currently in Iraq, most FOBs have good gyms, lots of free weghts and most stated side posts have gyms as well that are well stocked.

We had three gyms at Al Asad. One was the hospital gym AKA the prison gym. The other was the MAG 16 gym. This is the gym most of the people in the hospital used. It had just about everything including an adjustable powerrack and the third was the main gym. The main gym was about 1-1.5 miles away from our barracks. This gym was just like any large gym on an U.S base.
