I did. Best money I've ever spent in my life. My contacts were 4.5 and 5.0 diopter or whatever. I now see @ 20/13, which is two steps better than 20/20 or something.
It's unreal to go in for surgery, leave half an hour later, then the next day you can see everything like it's crystal clear.
If you have any questions, ask away. My only suggestion is that you don't go on youtube and watch the surgery, or any botched operations. It's extremely rare for it to happen. Do your homework on your local surgeons and you'll find a solid one.
^^^^ what he said. best money ever spent. did it December 2006 went in with ine eye 20/40 the other 20/200 now im 20/20 and 20/25

Did AF pay for it?
supposedly, and according to my uncle who is an eye doctor, it is best to wait til around 30 because after 20 years or so you most likely will need another procedure
i do want it tho, just BS not covered by insurance
Did AF pay for it?
nope paid for it myself. I was on 3 yr waiting list at the time because the af only did prk. i got sick of waiting. I did it at age 28 paid out of pocket for lasik
much quicker heal time
now the af does lasik too however i dont know how long the wait is
LASIK is so much better than PRK. when I went back to the office so the surgeon could double check everything the next day and clean my eyes out there were guys in the waiting room who did PRK who still couldn't function right a week later.
I **** you not, your vision is back on day 2 of LASIK. You're just a bit uncomfortable and have to add a lot of drops for a few weeks.
yep i did it in 08. 5g. its awesome. i see bt 20-20 and 20-30 but i was minus 4 in each eye.
Were any of you short sighted or far sighted before you got it done?
Always been interested (I don't wear glasses because they're uncomfortable, and I blink too much for contact lenses), but statistics always worry me.
I got it done in March '08. I was -9 in both eyes. Very bad. Now I'm 20/20 both eyes. I love it. Best money spent.

My eye doc was the one who convinced me to have it done, she was -10 in both eyes and went to the same surgeon I ended up using.
God it's great.
I did thanks to my bodybuilding.com family:

Greatest thing ever. I would do it again if I could. The only real issue that I have is some decreased night vision. Hard to explain, but things creep up me later. Like, if there is a care parked along the side of the road, I see it later, like it's darker. Hard to explain.
I've been told not to get the Razor cutting surgery but the procedure that's just Laser driven (newer). As that Razor cut never fully heals, that's what a good bro told me anyway.
Looking at getting my eyes done soon.
Basically this: http://www.trustedlasiksurgeons.com/all_laser_lasik_bladeless.htm
Edit: How cheap is this today?
I'm seeing prices around 500 bucks, I thought it was way more expensive.

I don't think the difference between all laser and the razored cut is really night and day like you mentioned. The eye does heal. Either way, with LASIK you're cutting the cornea.
The price should NOT be your driving factor to which doc you choose. Shop around, hear what friends have done, talk to your optometrist.
My LASIK was $3200, my vision is better than "perfect" and I could see clearly the following day. No issues, no 'night blind' issues either.
Prices have come way down. The top guys here are $ 499/eye.
My wife had it done in 1999 - she was -12 pre-surgery and 20/20 the next day.

Depends on the plan. Check out Lasik MD. My wife's surgery was done by one of the founders. He has done over 50,000 procedures.

Wow, okay, thanks. I've always wanted it but have been too afraid to go through with it.

Come to Montreal to have it done. SRS. They have special deals for Americans.
You might also be able to see the black obese stripper in leopard print again. Just sayin...

I took a trip to the philippines earlier this year to get my eyes lasered. I had -4 vision and now I'm 20/15 :D
Paid $1,400 total which included pre and post tests, eye drops & lifetime insurance. Meaning if something goes wrong even 20 years down the line I can get corrective surgery for free.
Definitely recommend this treatment! Feels great to be able to open my eyes in the morning and actually be able to see everything
