[QUOTE=Auburn RSX-S;1029224603]The part where he's running with the camera spinning around him before the monster bursts through the column had the slight jankiness of real gameplay.
I'm not confident that the Deep Down trailer represents playable, animated gameplay, but I have no doubt it's real time in-engine footage either running directly from the PS4 hardware or at the very least PC. If you go back and watch, there's no detailed hair strands/simulation (eyelashes, facial hair, head heair) anywhere in the demo.
Again, not sure about those animations being actual gameplay. And some aspects could be fake with pre-canned, heavily scripted animations (eg: fire). But it looks both ****ing incredible and a real time engine demonstration. The flaws a lot of guys are seeing are not really negatives, so much as evidence of the reality of real times graphics processing. It's why Ubisoft's bullshot screenshots always have a weird, uncanny look, even though most are using in-game assets. The rendering is always oversampled and touched up, so it's not technically real time anything.
This, on the other hand, looks bona fide real time.
Honestly, do these shots really look THAT different than something like modded skyrim?

Slapping a 2d menu onto the screen does not make it a gameplay footage. Look at the displacement texture on the ground of the first screenshot where the puddle is, look at the high polygon count of the models and the quality of the lighting, im not sure even a high end pc can run that gfx let alone the ps4. You're gullible as fuk brah
We're not gonna get this gfx for many many years. Srsly the only in game footage in the sony presentation are watch dogs and killzone

okay you are right, but the guy who made the screenshots used a very misleading picture. very very bias towards the pc.
heres what it actually looks like, and yes its "real-time" rendering

Might consider buying this, did own a ps3 but sold it because none of my friends had one.
If they finally announce an official date for KH3 then i'll be all over it.
-
PS1 1994
PS2 2000
PS3 2006
PS4 2013
Even if we agree with the OP that the PS4 destroys current top of the line PC's (this isn't true, but for arguments sake), looking at the above release dates, the PS4 hardware will have to last for the next 6-7 years. Whilst in that time PC's can be constantly upgraded year on year.

Just because the game looks amazing doesn't mean you aren't capable of building a PC that can run it. Every PS4 and Xbox 3 dev kit is a PC with identical specs to the next console, not the console itself. Besides, these games will be coming out at the very earliest, Holiday '13. Many of them are not going to be launch titles. And many of them are being "optimized" so that they look impressive for the PS4 reveal. Remember the Killzone "gameplay" trailer that was revealed alongside the PS3, and the differences in graphics between the MGS 4 trailer and the finished product.
Fact is, there are graphics cards and CPUs out right now that match the capabilities of the PS4. It may cost you $3000 to build that rig right now, but a year from now, it'll be $2000. A year later, more comparable to the PS3. The consoles will always be "futureproof" for a year or two, only because they are so affordable. But the technology for PC is already there, and with a 5 year minimum life cycle, by year 2, you will be able to build a comparable PC for the same amount of money or less (plus all the other capabilities that a PC has). My PC that runs BF3 on Ultra cost me $500 in main components, minus the additional accessories that I wanted but didn't necessarily need (SSD, Blu-Ray Drive). I use it as a gaming station, a work station, and for general purposes such as browsing the internet. It has a terabyte hard drive, something that they do not have for the Xbox or PS3, which cost me less money than a 120 GB hard drive does for the Xbox. And it plays many games on high settings on a higher resolution that the Xbox cannot match (just look at BF3 on the PC compared to the Xbox). Not to mention, I don't get scaled back games, like those that are designed for 64 players on a PC but can only support 24 on the consoles.
By the way, I was a console gamer my entire life and only converted to PCs about a year and a half ago.
-
Maybe it's not as cool as I think but I was pretty impressed with the amount of artifacts being shown in Killzone at once. Seemed like the draw distance was insanely long also, and yet the game ran perfectly smooth.
I'd love to see how Killzone's graphics compare to Crysis 3, cause you need a pretty damn good PC to run that game smoothly at the highest settings.

GAme will never look like this.
If I recall the PS3 isnt even maxed out yet. Devs can't put this much time into a game these days to have this amount of detail. Publishers want to rush titles out the door so as a result you don't and will never EVER get this kind of detail in a console game.
This detail will only come with a pc mod.

Strong knowledge of hardware if you think games will actually look like this.
These shots are rendered in real time on PC, originally done sometime in 2011, with the eye shading finished in 2012:

Guess what? That has more to do with the engine it's running on than the platform. Saying that it would be impossible to animate the 3D face is strong retard logic.

How are all the dilerious console gamers going?
Anyways.
PS4 GFX = 1,84 TFLOPS, PC's Nvidia GTX 690 = 5,62 TFLOPS.
While the video card is "next-gen" it is also AMD, AKA well behind a few cards already.

iv been a PC gamer ALL my life. What you fail to realize is that it doesn't matter what hardware you can build, pcs will never take full advantage of that hardware. The only hardware developers really take full advantage off is consoles because its a "closed" spec development source. Thats the problem with pc gaming.....that game could have been made on PC a long time ago but it was never made because console dictate how far developers are willing to push their games at this point. You can claim all you want how you can build a beast pc and have better looking graphics but you won't have any of those games on pc until they can be made available on consoles. Thats been the trend the last generation and its going to continue to be this way because thats what makes developers money. They are not going to make an insane looking game for 1% of the population that can run it and isolate their fan base. Right now PS4 games look as good if not better than whats available for pc on old ass hardware. With the release of PS4 developers can finally start pushing pc games further because they can still create decent ports for ps4 which they couldn't create for ps3 anymore thus weren't pushing pc games.
My point: PC high end hardware dont mean **** now because most of the pc games are console ports, at the games that are made for PC only won't be taking advantage of your GTX690 because most of the population still has their gtx 660 in their rigs. Its all about business and making money. Sorry brah.

I got skyrim and most of the mods with enbs (can post steam for proof), you can only get that kind of detail with mods and i still doesn't think its that far ahead of demos that were shown on ps4 if not worse. I do believe that modded skyrim looks pretty much as good as there is to offer on PC. BF3 IMO is still king of FPS graphics (maybe just my preference). Lettuce be real tea though, if Bethesda was to make Skyrim again from ground up for PS4 without PS3 ever being considered, it would look even better on PS4 and PC unmodded than what current skyrim looks like modded on pc right now.
Also i lol at people posting GTA Icenhancer mod. IT looks ok and car models that you download are really high poly but half the world still looks like **** and low poly just with better lighting.
