Alcohol and bloating
Does anyone feel bloated when they drink beer or liquor?? im not talking about when you drink it but the entire next day I always just feel really bloated. I also gain about 3 lbs on the scale, but then the day after i will be back to a normal weight. I only drink once a week, cuz thats what i use as my cheat meal. So wut about yall??

I get this too, epic water retention even though alcohol is a diuretic

I would be bloated for 2-3 days after a hard night of beer.
I think I would get so dehydrated that all the water I drank the day after, to quench my unquenchable thirst, would be held in my body for days. Some kind of survival mechanism.

just because you're bloated or retaining more water doesn't mean you're not being dehydrated... you're body works by finding a balance between being able to retain water, and still being able to get it where it needs to go.. the better you retain, the harder it will be to get where it needs (feel dehydrated). it's the same reason by drinking too much salt water can dehydrate you, but drinking a little salt with water will help hydrate you more than without any salt... you need to do two opposing things efficiently so your body maximizes efficiency that way
so ya alcohol will make you retain more water, then people try to drink more water to counteract their dehydration so they retain even more than usual to get that slight hydration.. whereas you don't drink alcohol and you won't need as much water to get hydrated

The morning after I drink my weight is usually down pretty noticeably because of the dehydration, but because I'm (and I imagine you are experiencing a similar thing) dehydrated my body is trying to hold onto as much water as possible. So, for about the 48 hours after I start to rehydrate, I find I'm actually few pounds up from where I was before I went out drinking. It's no big deal though, because it all evens out in the end, without any significant impact in the long run.
