That's right, it is that time of year where I done got motivated enough to start another lifting competition. This one starts as soon as I open the thread for bidness and will end at 11:59 PM, Eastern Time, on April 17th, 2016. That's 13 weeks to show the Misc your biggest bench and see how it compares to the rest of us. Now that the introductions are over, let's get straight into the good chit. For those that competed in the last bench comp most of this info is just copy and paste.
The Lift
1. No bench shirts, sling shots, elbow sleeves/wraps, or anything that actually helps to lift the weight.
2. Belts and wrist wraps allowed.
3. Feet must stay on the floor at all times during the lift. Butt must stay on the bench during the entire lift.
4. A spotter may help you unrack the weight if needed. At NO time during the actual lift may the spotter touch the weight or it is a no lift. So if your spotter is a hover hands type of guy tell him to back off little.
5. From lockout you must lower the bar to your chest, stop the weight long enough to show you are in full control and not bouncing the weight, and then press the weight to lockout. All it has to be is a slight stop, nothing more. That's it, nothing complicated.
6. Once you are fully locked out I do not care what you do with the weight. you can rack it by yourself or have a spotter help you.... I highly recommend not just dropping it :D
The Entry
1. On a piece of paper write: BB.com's Benchpress Comp, your username, and the date. Show the paper before the weigh in and before the lift if they are separate.a lot of people are going to screw this up. If you do I will not be counting the entry
2. Entry must be made using a Youtube account. If you dont have one then take 5 minutes and make one.
3. In the video title simply put "BB.com BPC" then the weight lifted and your body weight. Example: BPC 365 @ 215lb. this will help me out when I get more than one entry at a time. Thanks.
4. You must weigh in. Then after the lift make sure you show the weight lifted up close. I dont need you to show each and every plate separately but i do want you to get close enough to see that you aren't fraudin'.
5. Camera angle must be good enough so that I can easily see the bar touch your chest and still see the entire lift(including making sure your butt stays on the bench). You do not have to make this overly complicated just make sure it is all there.Get the camera angle so that you show the entire bar length as well to ensure you do not have spotters/bands assisting the lift.
6. You can put as many entries in as you wish but only one will count. I will use your last entry as your final one so make sure you really want to post the new one before you do. Once I judge it it is final. No takebacksies.
7. Weigh in and lift must be in the same 24 hour period
8. Any tie in weight lifted will go to the lifter who posted FIRST
9. NEW RULE: Thanks to Lpenny for posting up a broomstick benchpress there is now a rule that all entries must be made with a barbell.
Other Stuff
1. I am the only judge of this competition most of the time. The two mods I count on to help me are Iceman1800 and/or Isaku900. If you are not one of them, then refrain from "helping" me lol.
2. You are free to PM me if you feel my judgement of your entry was wrong. I will have someone else judge the lift as well and if I am wrong then I will say so and count your lift. This competition, unlike a real powerlifting meet, does not put me or another judge in a position to give the commands so yes some things will be kind of judged on a curve :D
3. All other Forum rules must be followed. This thread is started by a mod, judged by mods, and sits in the Stickies of our most moderated forum. If you feel froggy, go ahead and jump!
4. Rules are subject to change if I notice I am missing something or if something is brought to my attention.
5. Keep it classy, brahs!
Meet Lifts
Not only do I welcome any and all sanctioned meet lifts, but honestly they make the judging a whole lot easier. Please feel free to post your meet videos as long as they are after today and before the end of the competition. Anything outside of those parameters will not be counted. To verify who you are simply PM your meet results and it is that easy. No need to do the BB.com paper thingy like above. Only Meet Lifts are exempt from providing the paper proof of username and date.
Good Luck to all my competitors and let's see how much you can push!
