beer and bloating.
Hi. When you drink beer and your bloated the next day, does the bloating come mostly from the beer itself or does it come from the crapload of junk food people ussually eat after they drink?
I mean, eating crap after drinking must definetly at least make it worse, right?
Thanx alot in advance.
P.S. what are some good ways to get rid of beer bloating? Besides just waiting for it to go away.

a simple experiment would be to drink beer without eating junk food and see if you are bloated the next day!
i would hypothesize that since beer is a highly caloric carbonated beverage, you will feel bloated.
depending, of course, on how much you drink...

mmm...beer. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Beer actually only bloats me while I'm drinking it. The next day I actually am a little more ripped and lost a couple lbs. Thats because it dehydrates you. But I really don't go to the bar anymore when I'm drinking, so I don't really eat that bad, if much at all. If your gonna drink, just drink a bunch of water, take a multivitamin, and a protein shake before bed. Then try to do some light cardio the next day to sweat the bad **** out.

ok.
ok, thanx guys. I understand the water and the multi-vitamin but why the protein shake?
Also, does anyone know how to get rid of beer bloating besides just waiting for it to go away.
P.S. I don't just feel bloated, I look bloated (in the mirror) and weight more on the scale. Could this be from also eating junk food while and after drinking?

Drink alot of water the next day....do cardio....sit in the sauna and sweat the **** out....you might feel like total **** doing cardio if you hungover but you'll feel a helll of a lot better after you're done. Hard part is getting your hungover ass to get to the gym or to even put on your running shoes (like myself ) haha
-
ok.
ok, thanx alot guys. Yeah, beer doesn't give me a hangover at all, just malt liqour and hard liqour do. When I drink beer I actually wake up real early and with a lot of energy.

Dont drink? I dont know how often you drink or what your current plan is. But, I assume you are trying to lose weight, you shouldnt drink often then.
-
ok.
yeah, I don't drink that often, it's just this weekend. I'm still dieting most of the time and still lifting and stuff but I've been training strict for like 6 months now so I'm gonna take it easy this weekend and just drink some beer and stuff. BUT, I still want to do it as "healthy" as possible and with as little bloating as possible..I hate being bloated.
Anyways, thanx again guys.

I don't drink beer, but whenever i drink hard stuff the next day i'm usually alot more defined, and veinier because of the dehydration factor of alcohal.

Best way to avoid beer bloating is to avoid beer.
Body building is a sport of health and physique.
Why would you put that poison inyour system only to negate half of the energy leave at the gym? Makes no sense to me
-
ok.
I train very strict and intense 99 percent of the time. every once in a while I take a little break and enjoy myself and have some beer. It keeps me from going insane....LOL.

Having a few beers is enjoyable, might set you back a day or two training wise but having a few as a change of pace can be good to stop yourself getting burnt out on the constant meal planning/worrying bout protein/calories.

whenever i drink about 12 beers and don't eat, i feel good in the morning. but when i drink and eat right after thats when i get bloated.
-
yeah.
yeah, that's what I did, I had like 12 beers and then I spent like $20 at wendy's...LOL.
-
Man I love how I look after a drinking binge.
-
When i drink, the very next morning im at my lightest, then im heavier for like 4 days! All water retention im sure. I never look more bloated though.. maybe cause my gut is to big to notice.
"hmmm sweet sweet beer, the problem of and answer to all lifes problems"

IDK if anyone answered about the protein shake, but the main reason is when you sleep your body goes into a catabolic stage and consumes muscle mass for a primary source of energy. This in return is a negative to bodybuilding..so a protein shake will provide fuel for your body when you sleep. This way you dont lose as much muscle basically. Maybe some one answered that ..if so sorry..but i just wanted to make sure you knew!

Alot of it could be the fast food and carb/sodium mixed combined with the carbs from the beer. (as far as puffiness the next morning)
Alcohol generally acts as a dieuretic and sucks the water out of you so you look leaner in the morning but then puff up for a day or two as your body tries to resource it's lost water weight.
