'So many' are attractive because the unattractive ones don't get media attention. Most of them are physically fit because they are Olympians, if they weren't fit they wouldn't be there. Its like asking why are so many bodybuilders ripped lol
I think a lot if you are overestimating genetics ITT when it comes to becoming an Olympic athelete. Sure not everyone is fit to be an Olympian but if more people had the same time and dedication as these athletes do at their respective sport I'm sure that they would be pretty good too. This is not to take anything away from them because their hardwork over the course of their entire life is incredible and that's why they are so good at what they do. I think it's a little foolish to think you couldn't have been close to that good if you had the same passion and dedication they had along with the opportunity to train as much as they did. Don't sell yourself short, hard work does pay off.
Membership Fees
U. S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) membership - $40
Local club membership (single) - $35 to $150 per year
Coaching fee for 1st year - $100
Equipment rental, 1st year - $0 to $100
Seems pretty cheap to me. I don't think you have to have a Dr daddy to start. Please do some research next time
Do you snowboard or ski? Those prices are not a realistic representation of neither skiing or snowboarding, I don't know where you pulled that from but I can guarantee both sports are far more expensive. A single day pass to just about any mountain in new England costs a minimum of $50 a day and they certainly do not have any long jumping or downhill slalom open to the public, and skis and snowboards are stupidly expensive, my setup that I've purchased over the years is probably close to $1,000, and that's just one board, one pair of boots, one set of bindings, one pair of goggles, jacket, pants, gloves, etc

lol this. my friend is hella into snowboarding and has travelled all over the world for it. and he spent $400 on a pair of fuking boots. the dude doesn't even have that much money. I really doubt top level coaching would be $100 for a whole year.
not saying that they aren't skilled but it's pretty much impossible to get into this sport if you aren't well off. unless you run into some dream scenario where u work at the ski resort and get paid with experience and gear etc
but anyway - every sport is like that really... if you're absolutely broke I doubt you'll make it far enough unless you're god-tier talent. I liked bball so i pursued it and my family had the money to help my brother and i pursue it. brother went and traveled the states for a month with his team and it cost about $5k. if u want to make it in any sport u need dat monie
Because if the Olympians were ugly, nobody would watch the Winter Olympics.

Can confirm, older cousin is 4x Olympian. Last gf was a Norwegian Olympic athlete, new gf is a Dutch Olympic skier and med school student.
When will it be my turn...
He's 6'4" and has jaw of the gods. Phuck you genetic pool for screwing me over. Have jaw of the gods but 5'11" and obviously not an Olympic athlete.
Just to clarify and reduce confusion, his gf's were the Olympians, not my gfs

Da **** son, you hang around some Olympic village or some ****?
At least if you get them preggers and they keep it, the child will have the genetics of da Gawds.
Hmmm I wonder why people with healthy musculature in the physical prime of their lives would be attractive.
Gonna haf to get Shirleylock Homes to further investigate.

Haha I wish. These were his girlfriends, not mine. I do fine but sure as phuck don't date Olympians. Can confirm I've spent a bit of time hanging out in Olympic village due to his perks though. Salk lake city ftw.
they come from wealthy families.
wealth attracts hot chicks, so naturally when the rich dad knocks up a hot milf, you get an olympian.
srs.

I ski raced from middle school into college, and I can tell you it's very VERY expensive, way more than what you listed. Everyone is using the top brands of wax for the most advantage... Brb 1in X 1in cube of wax is $110 for quality dominator brand wax, there are different waxes for each snow type and each snow temperature... Brb tackle box with $1500 worth of wax alone. You need to have a specific pair of ski's for each type of skiing... One for slalom, one for giant slalom, one for super G, and one for downhill... Each pair is about $1300 for Fischers which are the good brands... Ski boots are $400 or so. And mind you that all this stuff has to be replaced maybe every other year to stay competitive.
The fees for FiS racing are about $200/race, and you have to drive all over the place to race every weekend. So $200 in race fees, $300 in hotel for 2 nights, $100 in gas or more, it adds up crazy fast.
And $100 for a YEAR of coaching??, it's a $100 for a 2hr instruction bro. $100 for a year has got to be some ****ty coaching... When I raced it was several thousand for one season at a quality ski resort with competent race coaches, and it's not 1 on 1, there are like 10 kids in a group.
Skiing is expensive as ****, no where near what you say... When I quit, most people had 6 pairs of ski 's they replaced every other year. 3 pairs of race only skis that were pristine, and 3 pairs of the same skis used for training only. So that's about $8000 every 2 years on skis alone.
