Ideal Olympic Weightlifting Diet
Even the most elite level athletes in the sport seem to be less concerned with diet than most other athletes. Although most may eat "healthy" it doesnt seem like much of an emphasis is placed on this subject. I compete at the collegiate, national, and international levels and have yet to find anyone with the "perfect" oly diet, or even anyone attempting to find one.
I have a few questions, do you guys think that oly lifters would benefit the same way bodybuilders and powerlifters do by using strategies like carb back loading and intermittent fasting? The scientific theories and ideas behind back loading seem like they would make a great fit in the sport, so why havent people been using them? It seems like taking full advantage of insulin level timing is something that more people should become familiar with. Im asking this question from an athletes standpoint who wants to gain strength and muscle while of course, limiting fat retention.
Thanks,
