Figured I'd post part of my tie collection.. (the one on the right was a gift, rarely use it - too gaudy)
For the more veteran bros. I have a chance to go study in Australia. It would put me back more money, and I probably wouldn't graduate with the rest of my class, but everyone says studying abroad is an awesome time. Do you think potentially going into debt is a good idea, or should I be more focused on saving like crazy and study here?
I would say go for it, that sounds like something you could regret later in life if you were to pass it up. You only live once, do it up. Im 27 and i regret not doing more things during my college years like not going away to a big university. i commuted to a small local college yeah i saved money but i missed out on a ton of college experiences that most of my buddies had.
Decided it was time for a new belt today, went to Herbergers and they had 50% off all belts. Picked up a dockers reversible brown/blk belt for $14.
Got my coupon emailed to me already. Any other deals similar to the junglecents, etc? You can't use any other coupons with the 50% off, but you can use gift cards.
unaware of the junglecents deal, but yes if there's any way I can purchase a discounted giftcard before Monday please let me know
They have some really nice dress shoes on there as well, they would be pretty sick deals with the 50% off + something else
these grenson's are both 345 on there:

Can someone aware me on roughly how much a bespoke suit would cost (srs)? I am intrigued and don't any decent suits, if it is absurd I probably won't go for it, but I'd like a nice suit especially cause I kinda have an awkward build. And yes I do know that fit is most important, just kinda curious to know.
I've been to a few different sites to try and get a price, but no place seems to list any (obvious it has to be expensive, bffs gimme a damn idea of how much it is..)

For brown dress shoes, you should really go shell cordovan as far as material goes. They pretty much pay for themselves in the long run and only look better with age.
And if you're already paying close to 350 for shoes, I feel like the extra premium isn't TOO significant.

brahs,
i'm looking to order some chinos from land's end canvas since i have a serious lack of chinos in my wardrobe lately. i've heard some good things about clothes from there so i'm looking for some advice on their slim fit pants and jeans.
i'm a 32 waist and my thighs measure in at 23.5" almost exactly. i typically buy a waist size up, so 33x30. how would these fit me?
i also noticed they have refined, vintage, and normal slim fit styles. any major differences?
hell yeah, i wore my new suit today for an interview

lol
I like the suit, man. I have one in almost the same exact shade of gray. The black shirt you wore it with was what I had a problem with. You can ask almost any person with a know-how of wearing suits that black shirts look super tacky. It looks like an outfit some Italian mobster would be wearing in a movie.
You would have looked way more impressive if you just switched to a white dress shirt. Feeling confident wearing whatever you have on is important, but that doesn't mean that every person is going to perceive things the same way. Obviously you had other strengths that got you your previous job, but I can almost guarantee that no one at your last job said, "Wow, that guy knows how to dress."
I probably sound like a prick but like I said 9/10 people that know how to really wear a suit would agree that a black shirt like that was not your best option.
I can understand where you are coming from, and I agree that most people would suggest a white over black shirt. IDK, I went with what I felt better in, and I think I had a really good interview. I would be surprised if I didn't get an offer in the next few days.
Oh yeah, the suit was a steal! I got it for like $160 on clearance. The only thing I need to do is have the pants taken in at the waist, I'm finishing up my cut and I guess I'm a 30 now.
lol
You mad?

My only pair of brown dress shoes are some AE clifton's right now, then I have a chilli colored pair of AE bel air's and some black cole haan's. I believe the clifton's are considered blucher's, don't think I've ever had any cordovan's.
Also, if I bought either of those listed I'd be paying half of the listed price :D

Please burn that tie & never wear that combination ever again, it would give Lagerfeld a heart attack.

Depends where you buy it from, anything from savile row will run you around 3k+.
I go with some asian suitmakers and they tend to be cheaper. I really like WW Chan based out of hong kong, their suits are very high quality and will run a little bit north of $1000 (it's really a steal). They do hotel tours around the US, so just check their website to see when they're nearby.

Hhaha hey can't beat half price.
But if you ever get the chance, really just go cordovan. I'm pretty much done with buying shoes from the more fashionable brands (e.g. ferragamo) now. Northampton all the way..
ahah omg I know you're trolling
