Are all fried foods bad?

Let me explain better my question. My GF and I eat helthy food in general, but she tends to cook it on the frying pan.

1 - here is a question, if I stir fry veggies on a frying pan does it make it less healthy than heating them up on boiling water? Even if we don't use any oil?

2 - if olive oil contains healthy fats, why is it bad to fry things using olive oil?

3 - we also eat a lot of chicken dumplings (gioza) that are very low in fat, Does it make a difference with we prepare on a frying pan or in a regular pan with water?

I am just trying to understand if anything prepared on a frying pan automatically makes the food less healthy.

if you add oil to the frying pan you obviously add calories. When I think of fried foods I'm thinking of french fries and fried chicken that is battered and cooked in veggatable oil.

If you cook it in a frying pan with water then it's makes really no difference then cooking it in a the broiler or on the grill. Unless it's a fatty meat like hamburger, you will be cooking it in it's own fat, now how much fat is released when you cook, hard to say.

But if your cooking chicken breast and lean meats, it makes so very little difference I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd like to know this as well, I fry most things.

Common sense dictates that its the same, as long as you're not using massive amounts of oil (I use none) then it cant be bad, can it?

Only thing I can think of is, a frying pan doesnt allow fat thats come off the meat to drain away.

100% fat free canola oil FTW. It is all I use.

The thing is that I read once that frying creates a chemical transformation on the foods, and that's what would be bad about it.
I guess what they say is that the same food if broiled or fried, even if you use fat free oil, it will still be less healthy. Something to do with the chemical transformation during frying.
Could be a myth. Anybody knows?

I fry my food in a frying pan in varying amounts of Oil, the main thing I want to know is how many calories am I adding to the meal from the oil I add? Obviously I dont add all the calories in the oil to the meal total obviously, but I really dont know how much to add

How much do you guys add?

fried food is only bad if you eat it everyday...other than that, you eat it just to keep your sanity
