bump can anyone help me with nutrition facts because im a hunter and i just got a nice deer. i never really tjought about it but will it be as good as chicken in my bulk diet?
google it prob have some thing come up
i think its pretty lean.
my roomate went hunting for the opener this weekend. hopefully he brings a lota meet back(no homo)
Yes
chicken is better than anything if your trying to bulk or slim up
i would say venison is probably the best protein source for bodybuilders apart from eggs, as far as i know its even leaner than chicken
It's extremely lean. Unfortuneatly, the meat is rather chewy and gamey. It's usually best to mix it with pork for sausage, or make jerkey. I don't suggest eating it straight up.
venison is delicious as it is. I just got a 6 pointer made a crap load of cube steaks and i have myself about 120 pounds of meat

For one 3-ounce serving of venison, you would have approximately:
* 130 calories
* 26 grams protein
* 2 grams of fat
It's an awesome source for protein, I am a huge fan! My dads friend just shot an elk not long ago and sent some home for me, but I havent cooked it up yet, thatll be interesting.
I'm out of venison meat right now tho, and my dad just missed a 12 pt. buck the other night...sweet.

Should neg ya for shooting such a young buck!
Elk is so damn lean you can't make a burger out of it...guessing deer would be close to it.
**** yeah, venison medallions are absolute win! Cook them really rare, just sear each side.
Best red meat imo
It's one of the leanest meats out there. I think kangaroo is one of the only ones that is leaner (could an Aussie correct me?). It has a gamey taste (because it IS game!), but if you like it it's awesome.
And you can make a burger out of anything if you don't mind needing a little extra ketchup.
Wild deer and elk are very lean for mammals, and I highly recommend them, but like any other meat how lean they are depends on what cut you are talking about.
Most game meats are very lean.
The only problem with lean meats (including chicken breast) is they need to be cooked perfectly otherwise they are dry and horrible.
There's nothing wrong with a bit of animal fat though, in many animals the fat is where the flavour is.

Only if you cook them fast. If you cook them nice and slow in a braise or stew it is much easier to make them taste delicious.
Venison has more protein than beef and significantly less fat. Plus you know it has no added hormones antibiotics etc. it's all natural.
