i hear you can go as high as 45 degrees on incline bench. i tried 45 degrees on decline bench; seems a bit much. what is the ideal angle of a bench when performing decline chest press?

Usually the inverse of what you prefer on incline. For most, this is ~15-30 degrees.

If that's uncomfortable, try a different angle. There is no "ideal" angle.
