ephedrine linked to high blood pressure

i have high blood pressure and should i take ephedrine i mean with the blood medication my blood pressure is fine 130 over 80 which is normal . but my doctor and another guy at the gym who has a great body and is fit. said after you stop taking your ephedrine pills your metabolism slow down more than before and thus you gain more weight than you lost or were before.

the doctor said ephedrine is not good for the heart and increases blood pressure. and can cause a heart attack. It also suppresses your appetite so when you stop taking it and eating again you gain all back. need advice on some experiences on ephedrine and all the facts here true.

I'd stay away from it if you have high blood pressure. I use it..but really it's not THAT great..run an extra 20 minutes..and you've done for yourself what ephedrine can do for you on your best day.

Ephedrine is a stimulant, and like most stimulants increases blood pressure.

A sub-type of stimulant called [I]sympathomimetic amines[/I] mimic adrenaline and noradrenaline, tend to increase blood pressure, and include ephedrine, synephrine, and amphetamine.

Probably the "most studied" appetite suppressant is nicotine and you can get it in slow-release patches. Whatever you do, measure your heart rate and blood pressure regularly.

Ephedrine isn't worth it. If you're on blood presure meds then drop the ephedrine. Ephedrine's effects mainly come from suppressing the appetite and extra energy, this can be accomplished just by making sure you stay active and eat properly, you don't need the ephedrine. Ephedrine raises metabolism by 1-3% at most.
