Colostrum???
Ok I was watching the news last night and they had a story on a local bodybuilder who uses Colostrum. Colostrum is the milk produced by mammals right after birth. So has anyone else heard about this supplement?
Colostrum is well-known in the athletic community as a means to increase lean body mass without the dangerous side effects found in steroids.
There you have it folks, Colostrum is better than steroids.
-
Are there any people on here who use colostrum
-
My wife is pregnant. I'll collect some from her in a few months and let you know if I get steroid like gains lol.
-
This is the first time I've heard of it.
It might just be super-hyped just like the Deer Antler before. I wouldn't like how this thread would go.

Seems like I remeber this being a buzzword maybe 20 years ago... boron, colostrum, vanadyl sulfate, glandulars, and the like.
pretty sure it was later dismissed as useless.

If I remember correctly, it is the milk harvested immediately after the birth of a calf. The milk is highly rich in IGF and other growth goodies, to help the calf start out life.
As far as the bodybuilder is concerned, it takes a LARGE amount to even have a chance at doing anything, so even if it is the next great thing, it is far too expensive.

I agree here. Its nothing NEW. Just like "Band Training" and "Kettle Bells"
Just stuff the younger crowd don't remember so a way for industry to say "NEWS" or NW and make money on a revised old product.
Yes would take a boat load and $$$$$$. To make a diffrence.
-
ya the stuff is expensive but i have heard a lot of good stuff about it from a friend who owns a dairy farm

As an older guy I used this product a couple decades ago. Did nothing for anyone as far as BBing/PLing went.
