I've read around that it's around 2.5g a day. Is this all at once, or spread out? Is one dosage method better than the other?
Also, is betaine better to be taken on a bulk or a cut? Or is it like creatine where you should take it during both?

I believe the study was in two different doses.
I take my serving during workout because it is in my recovery drink.
Yes taken on both cut and bulk
from what i remember in the big betaine thread, spread out or bolus doesnt matter - and its like creatine in the way it builds up and maintains.
i take mine bolus pre workout/morning and dont plan to cycle off/stop. for the price and the fact its in a tab its easy and convenient
ive always seen pre workout recommendations but if it is dependent on saturation than it shouldn't matter
I take it in 2 divided doses, although probably not necessary. I'd shoot for at least 2.5 grams a day. I end up around 3-4 usually.
If you can tolerate one dose then go for it, some people need to split the dose up to avoid side effects.

Are you seeing people report that they're having much for GI issues with just a single 2.5g serving? I wasn't sure if this was occurring more at a higher dose.
I take it in green mag. Usually split pre/post workout. I'd love to see someone study the accumulation and washout period of betaine. We have tons of info like that for creatine. Seems like the studies indicate betaine takes longer to get results than creatine iirc.
i just been taking 2 grams pre workout and 1 gram later in the day
one day i took all 3 grams + forskolin + my usual pre workout stims on an empty stomach with zero gi issues. You should be fine. If bolusing or spreading it out doesnt matter Im just going to start taking it all at once.
when you start smelling fishy, then split up the dose haha

that reminds me, does everyone else's betaine powder smell like fish? I thought my LCLT was fishy and sour enough, but this stuff is 10x worse

I have never personally had any at this dose, but in terms of GI issues, I am pretty tolerant. Even 10% forskolin doesn't bother me a bit.

Can I get a link to said thread?
I didn't realize betaine built up like creatine. This is a nice surprise, all three of my "major" supps do this. Now, if only there was a supp with all three at once. Perhaps a 5g Creatine Monohydrate, 3g Beta Alanine, 1.5g Betaine and I'd be set.

I've seen people report issues with ~3g, though as you know everyone will be different.

I'd shoot for closer to 2.5g of Betaine per day.

I took what totaled up to be 3.75g in one bolus and I noticed an upset stomach about 20-30 minutes after consuming - only time I've noticed anything.

Ritual by ANS Performance provides three grams of creatine, 3.2 grams of beta alanine and 2.5 grams of betaine in two servings (45 servings per tub currently).
Pre JYM by JYM Supplement Science provides two grams of creatine HCL, two grams of beta alanine and 1.5 grams of betaine in one serving (20 servings per tub currently).
While none of those ingredients provide acute effects, having them included along with other solidly dosed ergogenic ingredients is definitely a big convenience.
